How to Save Money at Little Critters Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I am so happy with the service we got from Little Critters. They got us in same day. Told me everything I needed to do to help Vinnie and they gave him the treatments that he needed. He's doing so much better even after just one day.

We took our dwarf hamster for a large mass in his stomach. I’ve had already spend over $500 on a $5 hamster for vet visits. We went to Dr Jill and she said let’s try antibiotics and pain meds and if it doesn’t go away you can bring him back and we will just charge you to put him down which was $77. Called yesterday to make that appt because he blew up over 2 days. They wanted to charge me for another visit to evaluate to make sure he should be put down. It was already decided last visit that we would if meds didn’t work. So they wanted to charge me another $230 for a visit and then put him down. Shame on you Dr Jill! Now our hamster is suffering and u can care less! You are in it for the money not the animals! You should be ashamed of your self. Here is what Smokey looks like this am and you could care less. I don’t NOT recommend this vet at all! Please do not take your pets to this clinic! Shame on you for being a heartless Vet and taking advantage of people who truely want to do what’s best for their pets they love! I posted pics of him on the pics page. It wouldn’t let me attach. But under my name!

Have been taking my ferrets here for a couple years. Usually service is good but they recently went in for a small procedure but was told the doctor wasn’t in (so who is doing this procedure and why are we paying for “exotic vet” when “nurses” are doing all the work? They seem to not really know how to hold a ferret so that didn’t instill confidence.

First I want to thank Little Critters for the genuine grief they showed at the loss of my best friend. Even though my Jasmine had only been seen by them one time they treated me and her with dignity and respect at her passing. When I went to pick up her ashes the receptionist (sorry don't know her name)quietly asked if I was there for a pick up and softly said she would go get her, I didn't have to say my pet's name she recognized me and knew who I was there for. I found that very comforting.

Dr. Patt and her staff are incredible! After having a terrible experience at our prior vet, we searched for a compassionate, experienced vet in Gilbert. She’s taken care of my bearded dragon and my senior chihuahua, and was supportive and kind when we had to make the difficult decision to let them cross the rainbow bridge when it was time. Dr. Patt also takes care of my 2 bunnies, and we’ll be returning to her with our new puppy too! I can’t say enough wonderful things about each and every single staff member at LCVH. My only wish is that we found her sooner.
