How to Save Money at Little Rock Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

What compassionate and kind people at this clinic! They really care and seem like they are a family there. They took good care of my sweet cat and I'm glad to have found them.

I was absolutely impressed from the start when I made the appointment over the phone to the time we left the office. The front desk, Christie, expressed genuine concern and had an exceptional friendly disposition. Dr. Reynolds’s was awesome! Courteous, knowledgeable and down to earth. Our puppy was examined, tested and given antibiotics for less than 1/2 of quoted price from other vet clinics. Before leaving I scheduled a follow up appointment for our puppy and a new patient appointment for our cat. I’m pleased to say that we’ve found our veterinarian!! Great customer service, low cost, great service and clean facility.

Dr. Reynolds and the team at Little Rock Veterinary Clinic are great! I have two cats, one of which regularly has health issues. Every time I take my cats in, the team at Little Rock Veterinary Clinic is professional and compassionate. Dr. Reynolds always takes the time to explain my cats' health status in a way I can understand, and she provides useful, cost-effective guidance to improve their health and extend their lives. I can tell Dr. Reynolds really cares about the animals she sees, even above making money. I took my cat in for a small spot on her paw that concerned me, and Dr. Reynolds quickly assessed my cat and explained what the spot was. Since I've been to other vets for similarly minor concerns, I was prepared to pay the routine exam fee at the end of our five-minute visit, but Dr. Reynolds waived the charge. Further, the team has encouraged me to bring my cat in for regular weigh ins, as my cat is on a weight-loss regimen. They assured me these weigh-in visits were free, and I have yet to be charged for using their scale. I don't write this part of my review to say that this vet is cheap (no vet is cheap!) or that you should expect free services here; I just want to show that Dr. Reynolds truly prioritizes making sure her clients are healthy. If you are new to the area or want to try a new vet, this is the best veterinary clinic I've visited. I always know my cats are in good hands and receiving quality care while at Little Rock Veterinary Clinic.

It really makes me sad to write this. I have been seeing Dr. Reynolds at this clinic for over 4 years now. I loved having her as our vet, but unfortunately my most recent experiences have been disheartening. The last visit I had was for a simple booster shot scheduled well in advance. I had clarified on the phone what the cost would be (~$30) for the visit. I came in, and the office was overflowing with people and animals. I ended up waiting over an hour to get my cat's booster. I generally have little to no wait at all, and that's for a regular exam. Staff came in and did not apologize for or even acknowledge the long wait and spent the next minute and a half giving my cat her shot and left. When I went to pay, I was told the cost was $60. I informed the receptionist that I was told it was $30 over the phone in advance, but they insisted since it included an exam (even though it did not) I had to pay it. I had paid, and she said "you're good to go" without even giving me a receipt, something I only noticed later I was so frustrated. I wanted to sort this out after things had cooled down for a bit for me and their overwhelmingly busy office. However, we have tried contacting the office multiple times being assured they'd have the vet call us back, but it has been a week now with no response. I draw the line at unprofessionalism and poor communication. I will not be returning here.
