How to Save Money at Cornerstone Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Turner is fantastic with my sweet kitty and she actually loves visiting. The biggest green flag for me is that my cat shows such a huge difference in behavior going here vs the last vet we went to, she’s much more calm and able to relax. I feel so comfortable leaving her in good hands and recommend Dr. Turner to everyone

Dr. Turner and the staff are always efficient, respectful of my time, and respectful of my animals. They're always willing to go in-depth to answer any questions I have, and they're up-front about cost etc. One dog has severe anxiety going into any unusual environment, and Dr. Turner is absolutely amazing with her. When another dog had a scary reaction one weekend, Dr. Turner called from his vacation spot to tell me what pictures I needed to text him. After examining the photos, he called again and walked me through what was going on (something less awful than what I had expected), and what to watch for in case it turned urgent. He didn't even charge. I've recommended this clinic to friends who've had issue at other vets, or just needed second opinions on looming surgeries. They've all made the switch without looking back.

I want to thank you Dr. Turner. You not only treated but cared for my miniature poodle Sophie, who recently passed away after 18 years of a wonderful life. It was extremely hard losing her, but you said all the right things and, as always, were patient and allowed me to grieve. Given all the pets you see on a daily basis throughout your tenure as a veterinarian, one would expect that it would be next to impossible to keep up with the lives and treatment of each of them, especially those who come to you regularly. But you do it. And there's no one else I would have as my veterinarian for my pets. When Sophie passed, you were so kind to not only speak of Sophie in such a knowledgeable way, but to tell me that I gave her a good, long life. I didn't know that I needed to hear that until you said it. I still cry when I think about that day, as it was so difficult but also so meaningful. You treated her for almost two decades and every time you did you were loving, gentle, and accommodating to such a small creature. I greatly respect you and will always be grateful for the time and effort you took to make sure my best friend was safe, healthy, and happy. Now that Molly, our toy poodle, is in the picture, you have treated her and us just the same. You spoke with us for 45 minutes on the phone about her having seizures and the medicine she should take. You answered every question and didn't rush us even though I know you had surgeries scheduled a good share of the day. So, I want to thank you for not only being an outstanding veterinarian, but for being a kind and wonderful person overall. You make a difference in people's lives every day and it should never go unnoticed or uncelebrated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Aaron and Lorie Scott

Love this vet office! We have had nothing but great experiences. Both of my dogs go here! They are fairly priced and you can tell they really care.
