How to Save Money at Trusty Vet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

That’s Vet I’ve ever been to they really help people out. They really know what they’re doing. My dog had a skin condition. They identified it and fixed it like immediately. A friend of mine went there. They didn’t have money, and the people donated certain things for the persons dog, which was awesome from what he told me and that is just, one of the best things ever heard a vet do is they get money donate it to them so they donate stuff to people that don’t have the money to take care of their animals all the time because times are hard it’s a really really good vet and I recommend it highly

We had to put down our beloved family pet that was shared by 2 families, Trusty Vet was super accommodating and easy to work with. Helped to make a very sad day bearable. Also reassured my daughter about her current pet. It's things like this that really make a difference. Thanks a million for caring for my family!!

Knew I was gonna have a hard time at the vet this morning but STEVE made it easier on me and my dog. Him and his staff took great care of Mina. Steve was super playful with my dog and knowing her, she HATES the vet. Might have been from past experiences at the vet and never really found a person who seems to care for her like he did. I want to personally thank him for taking care of us today!

feeling compelled to write a review for this awesome place, i have a rescue pyrenees who really hates car rides and REALLY hates being anywhere that’s not the park or home but of all places she absolutely loves going to the vet and seeing her friends, everyone is always so excited to see us and the atmosphere does a lot to put my big nervous girl at ease. that alone is cause for five stars but on top of it they are extremely quick to reply over email and get the phone, and this vet probably also has some of the best prices i’ve seen in town for pet care. overall just a fantastic place i recommend trusty vet to all my friends!

My sweet pittbull needed a followup visit after finding out she had pneumonia at the ER Vet over the weekend. I was told by a friend about Trusty Vet, so I made an appointment. They were able to get my baby in 2 days later. They were super kind the minute we walked in. The nurse was wonderful with our pitty and let her back till she felt better then proceeded to ask us questions about her. She then got the Vet. We waited maybe 5 minutes and the Vet was right in. She brought treats which my baby LOVED. When it was time to examine the Vet told me where to stand, and because my 63lb baby was nervous the nurse helped me hold her up on the table. They were very understanding and worked at my pittbulls pace. They gave her more loves, and gave us 2 options of where we could go with her treatment (estimates included). It was very reasonably priced which I appreciated. We were in and out in maybe 30 mins. Everyone there is very kind and the office is comfortable yet professional. Thank you to Trusty Vet for caring for my sweet girl.
