How to Save Money at Animal Medical Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I cannot express how thankful I’m for all the animal medical center staff! From the ladies at the front desk, to the technicians and the doctors themselves! Literally I can’t thank you all enough! When I thought I was in the best care possible with our last vet (who was highly recommended) it wasn’t until I came to y’all on a recommendation from my neighbor, when I realized how wrong I was! I appreciate the fact that when I have an appointment at 8:30 someone gets me in within 10-15 minutes of arrival. I no longer have to wait 30 minutes to an hour (sometimes it was more) like at the last vet. The staff at animal med center , no matter how busy always makes you feel welcome when you walk in the door. They have taken such good care of both my shih tzus between my little one with ALL the problems from the start, to my very healthy girl and her big surgery that was only needed because of horrible advice given to me by the another vet, which breaks my heart. Needles to stay we won’t be going anywhere else! Animal medical center is now our home! Both doctor scarlet and doctor kasey have seen my girls and both are absolutely incredible! Thank y’all so much! We wroof you!

Wonderful place for my 2 dogs! Dr. Scarlet is the only veterinarian to correctly diagnose my dog's rare infection and get him on the road to recovery! We are so grateful! (And he had been to several doctors here and in another city none of whom correctly diagnosed his condition).

Outstanding office, front to back! Megan went out of her way to get my cat Tux in same day for urinary issues after he got into some dog food. They saw him and treated him promptly after I dropped him off in the morning. They only did what was necessary and informed me of all costs ahead of time which were very reasonable. I am so very grateful for this practice and the wonderful folks who work there. Tux is back to his normal, naughty self thanks to them! They are AWESOME!

My first experience was wonderful here with my sick pet. The vet was very attentive and explained things easily for me. They gave him all the attention and help he needed though that phase, so thankful. Although as others have stated the front desk staff lacks customer service. They sent me an automated message about a visit, I called 4 times without an answer or call back about this visit. When I finally got in contact with them the lady was rude and not very caring that I’d been trying to reach them all day. She did not care and couldn’t get off the phone fast enough, nor did she mention why the contacted me. When I arrived shortly after and asked to speak with the vet, I was told no; the lady again was rude to me. I retrieved my pets records and we have switched vets. Customer service is key, if this is how you treat me, how will you treat my beloved pet? Thank you Best wishes with your business.

Words cannot explain how much I love this place. Every single person that works there is amazing. My dogs are basically my children so it’s like having a pediatrician that I completely trust and that means a lot to me. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I had not found this amazing place!
