How to Save Money at Kunch Ginny DVM
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had to put my 18 year old dog down. Dimond Animal hospital/ midnight sun clinic, was amazing. The clinical staff was awesome. I knew they cared about my pain and wanted what was best for my pet. I wish the front desk people had been as compassionate... they were indifferent. My experience during this horrific time was so positive, we have chosen to return with future pet needs.

I had an elderly cat that needed a lot of care and medical attention. The staff provided me varying options for continued care and were always very considerate to myself and my cat. They made an effort to provide me with various options and financial courses of action, and several of their doctors made an effort to check in personally to see how she was doing. I highly enjoyed the service, and while my cat is no longer with us, I know it had nothing to do with the care they provided, and that she understood they were there to help.

Amazing Service, Great Prices and Clean. We had an older cat who was in the late stages of kidney failure. We came in and our cat Spaz was immediately triaged. They made sure he was stable before moving onto take care of other pets. We didn't have a carrier, they lent us one as he was being a little difficult. We returned it the next day and asked for a follow up call due to Spaz not eating, drinking, peeing, or sleeping. We got a call within the hour and new medication for our cat. We ended up bringing him in again and was again almost immediately triaged. They made sure he was stable and under observation before moving on to take care of other pets. All of the staff was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. They made this difficult time as easy as they could. I genuinely appreciate each and every person who helped us. I couldn't imagine taking any of our other pets anywhere else in an emergency.

Great place! Friendly helpful staff. We did a walk-in emergency visit on a Sat. They came out to the car 3 times to get us checked in and were very cautious to not introduce diseases to other pets. The dr was professional and took time to get to know our dog and answer questions. This wasnt our regular vet, but they treated us great and we were in and out in 2hrs with tests and only $150! We will certainly go back!

The vets here are great, and the staff is friendly but the wait is absolutely horrible. You will continually be passed up by other animals that the front desk think are priorities all while telling you from the time you arrive that you are next in line or that it shouldn't be too long. "Too long" is about 8 hours there....so it shouldn't be 8 hours, but it might be...who knows. I'm not at all exaggerating. So, the best advice I can give you is if they feel like you can sit it out and wait for hours in the waiting room then your pet probably isnt in any real danger and you should leave and make an appointment. Until there is a better system put in place I cant give more than 2 stars.
