I was visiting from out of state and my dog became ill. When I lived here before, I used Animal Care west... and love Dr. Talbot! But, he was booked. I learned of this affiliate and called. They were able to get me in within 2 days, got us the medicine and care we needed. I did have to pay the emergency premium which I think was high (and yes, i had to schedule an emergency visit), especially given the circumstances. I realize vets are busy, but waiting 2 weeks to get the affordable care you need, instead of when you need it, should not be the situation we're faced with in caring for our best friends. The medicine was very expensive which I'm sure the clinic gets a potion of. It would've been much appreciated had it been reduced the difference in the office visit cost but that didn't happen. So overall the care was good, the people friendly, the wait wasn't too long, and the clinic itself was clean and orderly. 3 starts instead of 5 because I feel the price was too high, and I felt like they could have and should have thrown some sort of discount or token to ease the blow.

Do not go here. Most of the staff is very friendly. However the veterinarian who was vaccinating my dog should not be allowed to practice. When he came in the room my dog was laying on the floor, he greeted us, all was well. When it came time for my dog to get on the table, the vet pulled my dog from under a chair causing him to yelp. Even after the initial yelp the vet lifted my dog from the scruff of his neck, and the loose skin above his butt. My dog screamed heartwretchingly out of pain the whole time he was being lifted, and even voided his bowels out of fear and pain. Once my dog was on the table the vet in question remarked “Jesus dog! I was just putting you on the table!”. I will never go here again, and feel terrible for taking my dog to see him. The veteranarians name was Dr Madsen. He needs some serious retraining.

This vet hasn’t cared for a long time. This is the email he sent to all clients. This email couldn’t be more rude to his loyal customers which I used to be. I will never go back here Animal Care- Client Letter Dearest Friends, Neighbors, and Patrons of Animal Care, We are writing to you to express our gratitude for your continued support of our hospitals. Animal Care has proudly been serving the community for over 60 years. Our mission has always remained the same: to care. To care for your pets and help them live comfortable lives. We care about you, your family, and your success in our community. We live in a beautiful place with wonderful people and we have always strived to build the community. Apparently, our secret is out as the last several years have brought unprecedented growth to our area. We welcome newcomers with open arms as we know this is a great place to live. The new growth has put a strain on our practice - days when you could call and get an appointment the same day are all but over. We are routinely booked out 3-4 weeks in advance for appointments, surgeries, and dentals. This does not mean that we do not care. We will always be here to help you and your animals. But with the growth, we can only do so much. As a general practice, we sometimes have to refer clients to emergency hospitals in order to be sure that your pet is provided the highest level of care possible. Please be patient with us as we do our best to accommodate you. We highly recommend that you plan ahead when scheduling appointments. We believe that together we are better. Dr. Panter and the staff at his clinic have been phenominal in their care for our family pets. We have had a rough few years with our dogs, having the last 3 pass away for various reasons due from cancer to seizures. Dr. Panter, and his staff have been so kind and considerate when we carried our 10 year old boxer down, and were so thoughtful to give us all time to say our goodbyes, and grieve the passing of our loyal buddy. Within that year, we had 2 puppies, with various issues, one with an accidental broken leg, which Dr. Panter repaired, and followed up with her. They were so compassionate, to our Fiona's needs and pain. Then 6 months later, my sweet Ziva came down with neurological issues, and seizures, and before I realized what was happening, she progressed to seizures. My family brought her to Dr. Panter, foaming at the mouth, and in full seizure mode, and his staff quickly took her, and administered medical care, and support to help us figure out what was wrong. Dr. Panter, called me as I was in route to home, explained clearly everything they were doing to save my girl, and the realistic prognosis even though it was not good. Dr. Panter and his staff stayed by Ziva, and monitored her, to the extent of their capibilities. They sent us to a clinic of specialists, Mtn. West that could take care of her overnight and figure out what happened. I couldn't have asked for better care in a very difficult situation. They calmed us down, and demonstrated wonderful professionalism, and kindness towards us, even afterwards when they learned that Ziva didn't make it. Our pets are a part of our family, just as if they are one of our kids. They are a part of our family. I am grateful that Clearfield Animal Care and Dr. Panter have been a part of that family. I completely trust they will go to great lengths to care for our pets, because they already have.

Dr Panter is so caring and takes time to explain things. He is awesome and I am so glad that we found a great vet!!! Also, you can’t beat the front staff and vet techs. They are SOOO sweet, easy to work with and make the experience so easy with difficult things. They truly care. Thank you guys so much for taking such great care of Loki!!
