How to Save Money at Vergi 24/7

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Amazing service and love for our fur baby ❤️ they took him in so fast, figured out what was wrong and gave us an action plan. We received constant updates and they were so patient when we had questions. He went in not being able to move or breathe and within 24 hours we had a happy baby back 🫶🏻 thanks so much Vergi team

When our beloved dog, River, faced a sudden health crisis, we found ourselves rushing to Vergi in a state of panic. In those tense moments, Dr. Seely became our lifeline, providing the urgent care and support our furry family member desperately needed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Vergi and their team were prepared to handle even the most critical situations with professionalism and expertise. Despite the chaos of the emergency room, they greeted us with calm reassurance, swiftly assessing River's condition and formulating a plan of action. What struck us most about Vergi was their unwavering dedication to saving lives. They worked tirelessly to stabilize River, administering life-saving treatments and closely monitoring his progress every step of the way. Their skill and knowledge were evident in every decision they made, instilling in us a sense of confidence and hope during an incredibly stressful time. But perhaps even more remarkable than their medical expertise was the compassion and empathy they showed to both River and our family. They took the time to explain the situation in clear, understandable terms, answering our questions and alleviating our fears with patience and kindness. In those moments of uncertainty, their comforting presence provided a much-needed source of strength and support. Thanks to the timely intervention of Vergi and their team, River is now on the road to recovery. Words cannot express our gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion they provided during our moment of need. Vergi truly embodies the essence of what it means to be a lifesaver, and we will be forever thankful for their heroic efforts. If you ever find yourself in need of emergency veterinary care, look no further than Vergi. They are not just veterinarians; they are true heroes who go above and beyond to save the lives of our beloved pets. Thank you, Vergi, for being there when we needed you most.

Please don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. We only brought our pet because the veterinary clinic by our house was already closed. We brought our cat of 9 years here because he was sick, but he was still very strong and fighting to stay alive, so I brought him here to get him some help. I left this place without my cat and a big hole in my heart. To begin, they asked us to pay a starting fee of $1,500 BEFORE even explaining what was wrong with our cat. We declined paying the fee because we wanted to know what was wrong with our cat first before making any type of payment. After we declined, the doctor came in and told us she didn't have any idea what was wrong with our cat and she had to perform what seemed like more than 20 tests to make sure what was wrong with him. The tests totaled an amount of more than $6,000. Even after they told us the amount, the doctor said "Oh, but it's not a guarantee that your animal will actually survive all those tests even if you pay that amount." How she, a supposed expert in animals, couldn't give us the 3 or even 5 top things she thought it might be based on his actions and such, is completely beyond me. We would have paid had the tests been narrowed down a bit more and we could afford that instead of the 20+. She said if we could not pay, the most humane thing to do would be to euthanize him. According to her, she said "At one point I thought your cat was dead. I thought he stopped breathing. He doesn't have much time." And yet, they kept giving my husband and I "time" to decide what we wanted to do even though my cat was dying and suffering. Everything the doctor said was said in a very nonchalant and cold way. She didn't seem to sympathize with us. Why people choose a career they don't like is completely absurd to me. In the end, we opted to euthanize our baby because I figured it would be the best thing to do since THAT'S WHAT THE DOCTOR SAID. However, upon reading a lot of the other reviews, I realize perhaps I should have just taken my baby somewhere else. The only person who showed us any kindness was a lady named Evelyn. Thank you, Evelyn. ❤️ Other people that work at this place: DO BETTER

I would like to thank all the staff at Vergi. Though, my dog and I have never been to an emergency vet, the staff put our mind to ease. Considering my dog can be reactive, they knew how to handle him with care. Lastly, the price is reasonable with no surgery or major treatment was needed.

Do not take your fur babies here! This place is all about money. They do not care about the health of your pets! Our cat we had for 9 years was put down because we really felt we were getting an honest evaluation from the vet. I believe he had a fighting chance but they like to play with your emotions to try to get you to bite to pay! Our cat woke up not feeling good, the usual vet we go to was closed so we decided to go here as it was an emergency. Over the phone it sounded good. As soon as we arrived they wanted to have us sign a waiver to pay $1500 without telling us what it involved, and they said that it was just the start and would increase. We declined. Vet came in and kept telling us if we didn't do anything our baby would die within minutes. They came in with a quote for an outrageous $6500!! They kept telling us if we didn't pay he was not going to make it, that we should just put him down. Others vets usually offer payment plans or offer the test they think are the most necessary and work with you on price. They have no bedside manner. We decided to leave, as we were trying to leave they kept insisting it was inhumane, but we wanted a second opinion and we were headed to another ER. They kept trying to convince and guilt us into coming back because they said they were going to tell us he just was not going to make it in any vet we went too. We believed them since we were so emotional and decided to put him down since they said he was suffering a lot and we didnt want our baby to feel any more pain .You would think a vet would care about animals, but after reading the reviews it seems that they do this to a lot of people. Please stay away! Wish I could file with the BBB, this place should be shut down. The only employee that showed bedside manner was Evelyn, bless her heart.
