How to Save Money at Circle M Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We have a difficult dog with minimal socialization, which is usually really hard to deal with when you’re a stranger. I think Raelynn did an incredible job and I will definitely be taking my other dogs to her to be groomed! Awesome job, Raelynn!

I took my kitten to their vet office because she was throwing up and having diarrhea & when they gave her an x-ray, they claimed she had a string in her intestine and that she would need immediate surgery in Weatherford. Turns out, she only had thyroid problems and only needed medication (which I found out at another vet office). I wasted $1,300 on a surgery and they didn’t even find anything. Also, their attitude seems as if they only care about money and want you in and out, which is not something you want from people that supposed to care for your pets. However, I will say the lady with straight black hair is nice and actually seems like she wants to help. Adding on, while I was checking in, I heard them discussing about a calf that had died in the trailer and were laughing at how they still got money off of it without any sense of remorse. Remember that this is a vet’s office that should care about our animals.

Took my sweet baby to get checked out because he hadn’t eaten in days, they told me he would be fine if I kept him hydrated and paid $150 for nausea medication just for him to die not even 24 hours later! Called to let them know he passed and they had no sympathy for us and told me they should’ve worded it differently! The vet was more worried about other animals than to really look at my boy! I was given 2 options $800 for a couple days on an iv or $150 cause we caught it in time and he’d be fine. Never the option to just put him down because he didn’t look “that sick”. Don’t trust these people with your babies! They just care about money

Brought my cat in and they kept him for 3 days before they said he was ready to go home. He only got worse and when we tried to get him back in they said they were booked because they "had cattle lined up out the door". They made it clear their top priority are ranchers and couldn't be bothered to help our cat who was only 5. He passed this morning and could have been saved had they had a heart. Do yourself and your pet a favor and go someplace that actually has a heart for family pets. They billed me over 300 dollars for nothing.

I am absolutely appalled by this place! We needed an emergency Vet for our beloved dog Leo at 10pm last night! So we called Circle M and paid $150. He told us our dog didn’t seem to have any serious injuries and if he made it through the night then he should survive! We went up there at 9:45 this morning to be told he died and they disposed of his body with out notifying us, telling us what happened, or asking us what to do with the body! I 100 percent do not recommend this vet if you love your pet/family member at all!
