Madison Veterinary Hospital is an incredible establishment. They have a one-way traffic system that keeps the flow of new encounters (pets to mingle) to a minimum. All the front desks have clips that allow you to hook your pet up while you review and sign documents. The lobby has benches with short-wall partitions that allow you to see over without your pet noticing who else is sitting nearby. Also, the lobby has a scale built into the floor where you can simply walk your pet onto for weigh-ins before heading back to see the doc. The staff are always friendly and ask how we are doing. I recommend to all my friends and family.

This veterinary clinic is not at all like the original Doctor Faulkner's clinic. They do not seem to have any sympathy or compassion for your pet. Got the impression they are all about making money. They are very good at letting customers know that it's time to schedule an appointment for this test or that. (Cha Ching). Case in point: My dog ripped a paw nail off and was bleeding profusely. I called the Madison clinic and was told they were too busy for an emergency, gave me no advice on how to stop the bleeding, and to drive my dog to an emergency clinic many miles away to get any care. The receptionist was very nonprofessional. Could not get any medical advice to stop the bleeding paw. I called the VCA clinic, and they recommended I apply "super clot" and rap the paw to stop the bleeding. The VCA clinic was able to see my dog the next day and took care of the problem. Example number two: Called the Madison clinic to get a refill on a prescription my dog was on for many years and was told they could not refill the meds until she was examined. (Cha Ching)

Our kitty needed some teeth extracted due to reoccurring extractions. They had us place a deposit for our appointment due to other no shows. It wasn't a problem at all and we understood. During the afternoon appointment two weeks later they offered to keep our sweet girl overnight. My husband asked how much and they said it wouldn't cost extra to have staff there for her overnight! Then they provided a thorough cost estimate giving us a true understanding of the breakdown. The entire pet care team from the assistants to the vets to the front desk were great. All around wonderful care. She had the operation done yesterday and they called today to check in on her. The pricing was beyond affordable considering the professional (level of care along with their obviously mindful and attentive) ability to provide it. The facility is very clean yet not show off-ish. Simply professional. Thank you again! We will continue to come to you for our pets surgeries! ♥️

I will never go back to this vet! She tried to euthanize our dog when he didn't need it! We brought our dog in for loss of appetite and bathroom issues. Originally the vet ( Dr. Alexandria Barry) checked his vitals and told us that everything looked good and sent us home with prednisone. However, our dog was still having issues so we brought him back in. When we did so, Dr Barry ran blood work and informed us that he was suffering from liver failure. She told us that we need to euthanize him immediately and that she should not even let us leave the building. She said that he was in severe pain and when we told her we wanted to bring him home (because we did not feel like he was in pain and we wanted time to say goodbye) she refused to give him anything to make him comfortable because she thought he was too far gone. She judged his pain off of taking him in the back without us and he was uncomfortable when she pressed on his stomach even after we informed her that he was an older dog and is snappy when ANYONE new touches him, let alone pressing on him. As soon as we brought him home he went to the bathroom and was jumping and running around like he was fine, which is a behavior a suffering dog would not possess. We called back a couple times and the staff and vet were very cold towards us and showed no compassion, both on the phone and in the office. We decided to take him to two other vets to get a second opinion and they both said he definitely did not need to be put down that day and he was not in active liver failure. We provided them with the SAME blood work that Dr. Barry took and assessed and they both said that Dr. Barry's eagerness to euthanize our dog was extremely excessive and gave us medications to try and see if it will help his liver. They took an X ray and told us this medication has the possibility to solve the problem and give him the potential to have a full recovery. Dr. Barry's lack of compassion and resistance to at least make our dog comfortable was very unprofessional. She disregarded the information we gave her that combated her diagnosis and tried to euthanize our dog THAT DAY when two other vets with the same information said that was extremely unnecessary. Please consider this if you decide to bring you pet to this veterinary office.

We always have the best experience with this practice. We stop in monthly to pick up a prescription & bring our pup in often and everyone is always so sweet, caring and answers all of our questions! The doctors are great, they never push anything and always make sure you understand what’s happening! I stopped in today to pick up my dog’s prescription and had such a great encounter with Sarah, she was so knowledgeable and professional! We are thankful for Madison Vet!
