I wish I could have given 2 ratings. I would give the staff and vet a 5 but the overall experience a 0. The staff was nice and helpful. The vet was courteous and I 'assume' knowledgeable.....but I was given an estimate to sign before my dog was seen...so I had no idea what she actually needed...once this was discussed with the tech I declined an item or 2 that couldn't be justified and the tech very nicely corrected the estimate...she let me know that vaccs, blood draws, exam would be done in back room away from me. I reluctantly agreed to blood draw and vaccines but I adamantly and absolutely wanted the exam in my presence, the tech said ok and she would let the vet know. My dog was taken away and when she was returned everything had been done including exam!!! If the vet or tech had said, before performing it, that it wouldn't be done in front of me I would have left. There are 3 reasons why I didn't like this.... 1. The express request of the owner was ignored. 2. I have no idea if the exam I paid for was done by the vet or if it was even done at all. 3. When the vet said "she was a little ouchie when I examined her hips..." I had no clue if that was her normal ouchiness on exam or something new because I wasnt there to witness to it. The vet gave a generalized explanation that I discounted because I know my dog and it is important to me that the exam be done in front of me...as the owner....I let them take her away for the other items. I did not, and would not have agreed to an exam in the back room....if it was even done....I sure paid for it and they could have had a cashier perform it for all I know. (At this point im going to assume it was actually done and done by the vet) even when it was during covid the exam was still done in front of me. My requests, as the owner, have always been addressed prior to anything being performed, as I stated earlier I know my dog....she doesn't always conform to the generalities of the breed.....and an owners concern should always be addressed and a decision can be made...by the owner....it is not up to the staff to make a health decision about my animal in a case like this, it's not like it was in the middle of a surgery and they needed to make a choice...it was a health exam and I expressly said ok you can do blood draw and vaccines but I want exam done in my presence. I will not go back unless they do the exam in front of me as I asked, I can easily find another anyother vet willing to take my $600.00 and do the exam infront of me, without issue. ** Given nothing is being done to correct this issue or to accept responsibility for it being done. I have trouble believing you put the pet best interest first since I was not given an opportunity to make a decision for MY pet. Thankfully your staff was very nice and helpful in other ways... be good to them.

Can never get an appointment less than 3 to 4 weeks out, so the monthly plan is pointless. They have my pets records so far tangled and intertwined that we can't tell who got their shots when, and when you call their absolutely terrible call center will tell you 60% of the time that your pets have never been seen there, or that they've never received the prescriptions you're calling to have refilled. We were loyal for 4 years but they've lost our house full of rescues due to inability to communicate with individuals that know even the tiniest amount of what they're talking about, their sky high pricing for heartworm and flea meds as well as other prescriptions, and the absolute nightmare of their record keeping. If you can get an appointment in Fairview their vet is incredible but the rest of the company is an absolute atrocity. If these were medical records for humans someone would be losing their license to practice.

I love Vetco. They are always efficient with test results, friendly, knowledgeable, and they don’t push procedures that may not be necessary on you like other vets. Also very reasonably priced. I have gone to more expensive vets and gotten much worse care. My only complaint would be that it is difficult to get an appointment at the Fairview Park location, but I think that’s just because they’re popular (on account of being a good vet clinic).
