Brought my little baby, Bugsby in for some care after my primary vet recommended we come here. He’s had bladder stone surgery once before and is suffering from another stone and my vet wasn’t quite sure what else to do. Dr. Jew was Bugsby’s Veterinarian for this visit and I absolutely enjoyed having him as Bugsby’s Vet. He was amazing; he explained all procedures he recommended, why he recommended them, etc and I would bring all of my Guinea Pigs (and my other Exotics) back to him. The Vet Tech (I’m not sure of her name, as there was no name tag on her shirt) was so friendly, sweet, and helpful. She made sure we understood all of Bugsby’s medications and were comfortable with them before we left. The receptionists were also very nice as well! Overall, I’m happy with the staff and the care that Bugsby received. I feel what I paid (I know some people complain it’s expensive here) was well worth the money! Bugsby is also happy with the care he received!

The staff was so caring and compassionate. The Exotic team was very informative and did a stellar job caring for my Monitor Lizard “Hades”. I have been to multiple doctors to try and find an exotic doctor around my local area of Pittsburgh. I was unsuccessful in finding one that I trusted. I was recommended to Med Vet and it was a bit of a drive (3 and a half hours), but I felt it was worth it to get my pet the care he needed. It was far more worth it than I could have imagined. I extend my greatest gratitude to all the staff and would recommend them to everyone.

Worst experience ever! About 2 months ago my kitten had an accident and I brought her here where they told me her spine was broken and basically nothing they could do about it. The “only option” was to euthanize her or a surgery that was $10,000 and according to the vet would possibly not even help. But I did not want to give up that easily especially because she’s just a baby. After refusing the euthanasia the vet told me she’d have terrible life quality and probably wouldn’t pee or poop on her own, wouldn’t have any neurological function in her lower body and not walk ever again she then basically slammed the door when I said I’m just going to take her home and I never saw her again. But I took her home “against medical advice” and kept her contained in a playpen with everything she needed. The next day she was peeing on her own(without me expressing her bladder) and within a couple days she was also pooping on her own normally. Not even a month later she started to move her tail, then her hind legs slowly and walking with a bit of a limp. And now she is walking fine, running, playing and is back to her old self! She didn’t need extra surgery the vet said about that according to her would possibly still not improve her back for 10,000. all she needed was 4-6 weeks of cage rest which I read on google but instead they tried to kill her and it cost me a lot of stress and over $1000. Moral of the story find a better place that actually cares about your pets and not just the money!!

I have to thank MedVet and their surgical team and staff for saving our special boy, Loki. We brought him in for an emergency life saving procedure and he was immediately triaged and sent to surgery. They answered all of our questions and concerns and most importantly were empathetic and caring during the entire ordeal. The staff sent us regular updates and pictures of Loki during recovery. MedVet saved our family member and we will forever be greatful.

This past Saturday night I had to take our 5yr old cat to MedVet for what ended up being a urinary blockage. As soon as I walked in & described his issues they rushed him right back as they suspected a urinary blockage which can be fatal if not treated in a timely manner. A vet tech came out in less than 15min to confirm their suspicion of a urinary blockage & to go over the medical plan. The entire staff at MedVet was phenomenal for the 48hrs he was in their care. They proactively provided a medical update daily and took time to answer all our questions. We received a financial call both days letting us know how much of our pre-paid deposit was left & if they expected it to cover the extent of his care. They sent pictures of our boy via text during his stay and they went above & beyond to reassure us that we could call or visit anytime. They did what every business should be doing for its customers: they provided professional, courteous, proactive service with real-time updates from knowledgeable, friendly employees who genuinely seem to care. They clearly understand their customer base & how stressful it is to have a sick or injured pet! Thank you Dr. Bentley, Dr. Simon, Dr. Ruehl and to all the vet techs and administrative professionals.
