How to Save Money at InstaVet Housecall - At Home Euthanasia Service

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This pet cremation service helped us give our pet a proper farewell. They were prompt, respectful, and took care of every detail. The staff showed empathy and understanding, making a difficult time a little easier. Highly professional and recommended

The doctor and assistant were very informative, warm, and loving. Truly a blessing considering the circumstances and in the comfort in my own home, being able to say our sincere goodbyes until we meet again. She left my life but will never leave my heart always & forever Love you my Jayden Girl 01/05/2005 - 12/30/19

I had to say goodbye to my beloved dog of 16 years which was a truly heartbreaking experience and I feel for anyone who has to go through it , I reached out to instavet to try to create the most comfortable environment for my sweet dog in this sad time , Dr. fizze was the doctor assigned for my dogs at home euthanasia. When her and her assistant arrived they already seemed to be in a rush , her assistant was frantically opening all the supplies and I CLEARLY asked to please let us say goodbye before applying the second and final injection . Now before that , they were rushing so bad that my poor dog jumped up in pain with the first injection it seemed like they didn’t care where they were applying the injection , then after she just went for the second injection didn’t even give us any warning and that was it my dogs life was over I didn’t even get to say goodbye . After I’m histericaly crying because my best friend is gone they are literally gathering their things like their is a fire somewhere and leave . I can’t change anything now seeing as my dog is gone but for the future I would say have some more sympathy this dog meant the world to my family . If you are in such a rush don’t book with people , she had mentioned she had another location to go to and was so booked so she rushed my poor dogs death didn’t even make sure he was comfortable I’m truly heartbroken x2 and wish this on no one .

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Foxie, a 14 year old Schipperke, who was in end stage kidney failure. Instavet was able to arrange in home service for the same day I called. Dr. Fisse was very professional and caring and Foxie gently and peacefully went to sleep. The funeral director arranged pickup of Foxie for cremation. The whole team from initial phone contact to the man who came to pick up Foxie was very caring. I highly recommend their in home service.

Our family had an in-home euthanasia service done for our senior cat. He was suffering from a tumor in the mouth which eventually prevented him from being able to fully eat, and he lost weight rapidly. As a family, we wanted to live out his last days, but to a point where we also didn't want to see him suffer. We made the hard decision on a Sunday that it had to be the time, and I contacted various in-home vets to try to find one that was available on that same day since the decision was last-minute. With InstaVet I was able to get in touch with a representative who connected me to their veterinarian Aliza. At 12pm she let me know she had three trips to make around the city, and she'd do her best to reach to my house around 6-7. Long story short, she came with her assistant (I wish I remembered her name), who both made the process as smooth as possible. As emotionally-wrenching it was to let our cat go, Aliza and the other lady were supportive and attentive throughout the whole time. In situations like these, what really matters is how the experience was for your beloved pet, making sure he/she is as comfortable as possible, and the veterinarians did just that. I'm sure if there's something in the future that happens to one of our other pets, we feel confident in reaching out to InstaVet. I give major thanks to Dr. Aliza and her assistant.
