Update: STAY AWAY! The reply below has nothing to do with my cat. This Clinic doesn't even know who I am. They are scary incompetent. Please check other reviews! "...we quickly realized he had a substantial wound and provided the appropriate surgery and post-care necessary to make him as comfortable as possible until their quarantine period was over..." My cat did not have any visible, substantial injuries (he was severely dehydrated and anemic due to a flea infestation), there was no surgery, there was no post-care, and I have no idea what possible" quarantine period" could possibly be referred to here! Unfortunately their reply has further Illustrated how completely and utterly out of touch this incompetent veterinary clinic is with their patients and their owners. Old: Terrible, incompassionate service. My cat was captured after 6 months of being AWOL. He was injured and Animal Control took him to the nearest vet. Wycliff Animal Clinic didn't seem very compassionate about our situation, there were language barriers to good communication, and they took an oddly long time to even get me check-in forms. The place gave me the creeps. Finally, I went home for my own carrier and returned to take my cat to my own vet.

Do NOT take your animals there. Do NOT partner with him as a rescue. Do NOT work there. It is not kept to a standard of clean that it should be. My dog caught staph and ringworm from that clinic. There are ants crawling all over everywhere that they treat with Raid spray, which is anything but safe for animals. There is a leak in the bathroom that is never addressed so there is rot. There are unsterile hands touching your pets on surgery tables. The rooms are not kept clean - there is dried blood on the walls. The furniture in the lobby, including the front desk, has been soaked with pee for years and is not thrown out. Go over to the ‘grooming’ side and just take a smell of how god awful it is over there without any dogs in it. Dogs are housed in rusty wire cages on the grooming side instead of sterile secure kennels. Dogs have attacked each other because there is no proper handling training. Dogs are let out three times in the day: the morning, noon, and anywhere from 3p to 5:30p and sit until the next opening day. Over 12 hours, with no one checking on them or letting them out. Dogs are sometimes housed in an exam room and have gotten out because they are not meant to be boarding rooms. The trim, door, and walls are damaged from dogs trying to claw and bite their way out. Only one staff member currently is a registered vet technician. None of the other staff have had proper education; they have been trained by him. Is this allowed in Kansas? Yes, unfortunately they can administer items to your animals and sedate your animals and assist in surgeries, etc. Are there much better places with proper staff? YES. Was I asked to do a health certificate for an animal as a non-medically trained staff member? Yes! Twice. I refused because I am not qualifed to fill out that document attesting to an animals health. And that’s not even to begin to discuss the owner himself, George Randy McCallum. He is the most unprofessional, belligerent, hostile, child of a person I have ever dealt with. He consistently screams and curses at his staff, to the point they are in tears or have to leave to feel safe and comfortable. He creates a massively disruptive work environment that is emotionally distressing on a weekly basis. He will talk about you loudly on the phone to other entities, especially as there is no private office space. He does not follow proper procedures for employee coaching and discipline. He will yell at you in front of the entire staff. He will not allow you to be properly trained and will throw you into a job completely unprepared and then be angry when you mess up or don’t magically know what to do. He doesn’t trust his staff at all. He blames others for his problems he created, like signing a contract with a vendor and claiming that it was the employees fault he signed a 3 year contract… when his initals are right next to the number. He is not responsible when asked to provide documentation needed to keep the clinic in good standing, and has established patterns of not paying bill and not providing documents; these are not new or one off occurrences. He has no idea how to run basic technology in a field that require technical savviness. He will absolutely show pony you if you have one iota of technical knowledge or actual veterinary schooling to make his clinic look good to potential clients and investors. He cannot pay the bills. He cannot pay his staff. He can’t afford to hire new staff. He talks a big game of creating a new clinic in a year and it’s a huge lie. He constantly lies about multiple things including purchasing his staff laptops, helping move furniture around to make the clinic a better place, and continuing education opportunities. If you do not have medical training, he will constantly belittle you and tell you that you have no idea how the industry works. If you try to make an improvement at the clinic, you will be shut down and not allowed to make said improvement, or if he agrees and you make said improvement you risk being yelled at for doing so.

This place is weird. I brought my cat here in the past and it has been great. But it’s really disorganized and the tech was kind of rude. I can’t explain it. Just a weird experience. Just take your pet to a better vet.
