How to Save Money at All Species 24 Hour Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I would give a 0 stars if I could. I have a neonatal rabbit that had a small accident, and I wanted to get him checked. We called earlier and once we arrived, we had to wait 40 minutes to even be seen. The emergency fees are ridiculously high, why is it $600 to keep him in an incubator? I wanted to bring him to his normal vet for a check up the next day, and they did their absolute best to guilt trip me. My baby lost 8 grams in less than a day because they starved him, he stank of pee and he was covered in spoiled and dry milk. I was told he wasn't able to eat and he managed to eat at home. I'm begging you, if you have an emergency with your rabbit, take your pet to VEG or For Pets Sake or somewhere else. I'm including a photo of my baby, the skinny photo after him being starved for hours, versus what he looked like just the day before. Not to mention the poor condition the parrots are in the front. Take your pet somewhere else if you want them to live.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Was just turned away with my cat unable to breathe. I had the $175 for ER visit and additional for steroid shot but was willing to pay anything for my sweet cat. A rude lady named Amy at front desk with a black eye had an attitude the minute we walked in. She said they wouldn’t give her the steroid injection even though I had her paper records with her history with me and my cat was coughing and wheezing in her crate. I asked her if she was okay with sending my cat home to die and she literally said YES!!! No other emergency vets around and my sweet cat cannot breathe from asthma and they wouldn’t even look at her. I usually take her to the Duluth Animal Hospital and I told them about this experience and they told me NOT to use this “vet”. They recommended the closest location of Blue Pearl Speciality and Emergency Pet Hospital in Lawrenceville which I am happy to know in case I need emergency after-care services in the future. Please avoid this place at all costs for the sake of your pet!!

They got me in so fast for a tooth removal for my cat (most other places in Atlanta had a 3-6 month wait). The staff are so nice and flexible when I had to reschedule an appointment. Dr. Innocent is efficient and gentle with very little wait time in room so my cat didn’t get too anxious. Thank you, All Species!

Came in today with my very sick dog and very down on my luck as I took a major hit to my finances- I went in thinking that likely because of my financial situation that my dog would either have to be put down, or I’d have to find a way to keep him comfortable at home and figure it out myself… the Dr (I want to say it was Dr Innocent) had other plans for my dog. The people here truly love animals. After explaining to him how I ended up with my dog he decided he was going to do whatever is in his power to help me find a home for this boy as right now I’m just not a good fit. For him… as well as that he and the vet tech tending to my dog did everything in their power to help him start feeling better even knowing how my financial situation was. Truly wonderful people. I am sure God brought me into that clinic today. Now I have hope that someday soon my dog can live the life that will help him flourish and thrive someday.

I am so grateful for this place. My bearded dragon was not doing well at all, to where my husband and I thought he was about to die multiple times. We came here half expecting them to recommend euthanasia or some super expensive procedure. Instead, they gave us medicine to increase his appetite, recommended a food to syringe feed him, and had us come back for multiple check ups without charging us for them to see what his progress was. Everytime I called the vet the people at the desk who answered were knowledgeable and even gave advice in between appointments. When my bearded dragon started improving the woman at the front desk was legitimately so excited and showed how much she cared. At one appointment I had to bring both my kids and they were so helpful in helping me carry my lizard, opening doors, and even helped me to my car. Everyone here was so sweet, so professional, and honestly saved my bearded dragon. He went from me thinking he was gone, to almost 100% back to normal. Couldn't recommend them anymore. Another fun bonus, my kids loved the parrots that are in the waiting room 🥰
