We love taking our pets to Common Companion, specifically the Inman Park and Reynoldstown locations. They always go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of our dogs when we visit, and we completely trust them with their health after having visited them for years. They even allow us to bring our pets by whenever we are close for some some love and treats to help them associate the clinic with a more positive experience. Highly recommend!

I'm adding more info to the review I wrote about a month ago. And I'm going from 3 stars to 1 star because the very last experience with Common Companion showed us the extremely lack of empathy of their staff in a difficult moment. One month ago my review was: We've been customers for 4 years and been noticing the service is getting worse. In general, we notice that it takes several iterations to get the documents that we need to send the insurance for the reimbursements. On top of that, we've just had a very bad specific experience. Our dog has swelling lymph nodes and we decided to test her for a possible lymphoma. After a first inconclusive biopsy, the vet indicated our dog to take antibiotics when clearly there were no symptoms of infection. We insisted on repeating the biopsy and, only after wasting 10 days with the antibiotics, another 5 days to schedule a new test and another 5 days to get the result (after sending back and forth emails), our dog was finally diagnosed with a lymphoma. Conclusion: we lost 20 precious days (considering the short life expectancy on our dog with a lymphoma!) And, to make it even more difficult, it took us several days of communication with the staff to get sent the report to Blue Pearl oncologist and, of course, when we were at the appointment with the oncologist, he had not received it!!! Super disappointing! And now, 1 month later, our dog passed away. The cremation service company sent the ashes to Common Companion about 3-4 days ago and nobody at Common Companion let us know that they have our dogs ashes there waiting to be picked up (we were eagerly expecting to be notified in this difficult grieving moment). When we call CC to check on the status, the answer was "yes, we have your dog ashes" and we did not hear even a small "I'm so sorry for your loss!". Nothing at all. When we went to pick up the ashes, again, no minimal sign of empathy. And yes, this is supposedly a company that pretends to care about your pet.

Regardless of me regularly bringing in my animals to get check ups, this place constantly denies my prescription requests that I have from chewy because of whatever reason they can come up with. They want you to buy medicine from them and will jump through hoops trying to deny you getting it from anyone else. Not to mention the constant upselling without proper communication about price changes. Nice enough people but plan to never have a successful auto ship for medicine and plan to pay 10-15% more than you would anywhere else for basic routine check ups.

A Disheartening Experience at Common Companion Animal Hospital I recently had an experience at Common Companion Animal Hospital that has left me feeling quite disappointed. I've been a loyal client of theirs for nearly three years, but after my last Thursday's appointment with my beloved companion Sasha, I find myself questioning their ability to provide accurate diagnoses and their pricing practices. I brought Sasha to the clinic with concerns about her reverse sneezing, persistent coughing, and for her annual vaccinations. It was evident that she wasn't in the best of health. However, to my dismay, the staff veterinarian diagnosed her with allergies and proceeded to administer her annual vaccinations without any further diagnostic testing or X-rays. This hasty decision ended up costing us nearly $300. As the days passed, Sasha's condition deteriorated further, leading to extreme distress and concern. By Sunday morning, her labored, rapid breathing became unbearable, prompting an urgent visit to Village Pets in Decatur. To my astonishment, after a thorough examination, they promptly recommended a chest X-ray, revealing that Sasha had pneumonia. She was hospitalized for intravenous fluid therapy, antibiotic treatment, and breathing therapy, which set us back nearly $2000. This situation has left me deeply disheartened. Conversations with professionals in the animal care industry suggest that this ordeal could have been averted had Common Companion Animal Hospital conducted more comprehensive testing during the initial visit. This lapse not only led to further deterioration in Sasha's health but also resulted in substantial financial strain on our end. What is particularly concerning is that Common Companion Animal Hospital's pricing appears to be on the higher side when compared to other veterinarians with similar levels of positive reviews. This, coupled with the questionable diagnosis, raises doubts about their commitment to providing the best care for our furry family members. After years of trusting Common Companion with our pet's health, I now find myself at a crossroads. This experience has left me wondering if it's time to seek a new veterinary clinic that can offer both accurate diagnoses and transparent, reasonable pricing. We are so grateful to Dr. Pearce at the Reynoldstown location for the care we received for our senior kitty. She was attentive and invested in doing the right thing by our cat, and she did such a good job of preparing us for the probability of having to put her down. She helped us squeeze her in to a packed surgery schedule so our cat wasn’t left to suffer too long, was very comminicative with us, and you can really tell she cared. The vet techs and receptionists we worked with were also great, and I appreciated how they were able to walk us through the costs and give us thorough breakdowns up front of what we were looking at paying and what could happen to make that number change. We’re missing our sweet girl terribly, but whenever we get another cat, we will definitely be coming back to this location.
