This Veterinary surgical hospital was phenomenal in the level of care and kindness when helping us let our precious Mama go. Mama was treated with tenderness and love. We were given all the information needed to make the best decision for Mama. They did not try to upsell us and made sure that we were also cared for in the process of letting her go. On Sunday of pride weekend, I realized my cat was having trouble urinating and had been previously diagnosed with urinary crystals. Meaning he had a urinary blockage. I had to take him to the emergency vet Sunday then Monday morning they had me pick him up with his catheter still in. I was to take him to another vet who could monitor him I went to four different vets before I tried second chances! Not only did they just let me walk in and help me, since they didn’t have the hospital facilities to hospitalize my cat, unlike the previous several veterinarians they actually helped me. They taught me how to give my cat subcutaneous fluids. They gave him medication’s and told me how to care for him at home with his catheter in and monitor him. They checked on him every day they answered any questions I had no matter how minute. They truly care about your fur baby more than the bottom line. The staff over there is wonderful. Libby was amazing with my cat. He absolutely loved her! My boy is completely on the mend all because they chose to help him. Thank you so much to the caring staff of Second Chances!!

I went as a walk in because I was referred by planned pethood(they are in the middle of moving). When I walked in there was a lady (client)freaking out on the phone and arguing with what seemed to be a doctor or tech. Obviously not the clinics fault. What was odd is that the two people sitting behind the desk was more interested in listening to those two and made me wait until there was nothing left to hear. (Only a few mins). When they acknowledged me, I ask about a tooth extraction for my dog. They said it's $150 just to be seen since I was a walk in or I could make an appointment and save money(don't remember how much, but enough savings that it made since) I asked when the next available opening is and they said in 3 hours. When I told them I couldn't make that, they started giving me times that same day earlier. One of the times was in 25 minutes. That made me think... why would you charge $150 if I could just wait for 25 minutes and get the discounted rate by "making an appointment". That initself seemed extremely unethical. The person helping me also said they were still setting up the area for dental work and wasn't ready to do it, and if they were it's still a two appointment visit and would be charged for two visits. (All other vets I have spoke with would do this same day, or chage me for one visit and have me drop of my dog at a different time.) In the interaction with the people at this vet I felt they are charging unnecessary fees, not confident in doing dental work, made me feel like myself and my dog were unimportant and that they didn't want to do the work. There was a lack of caring, urgency, and professionalism from the minute I walked in. My dog is my world and as much as I like saving money I want to feel confident in the doctor and the facility I take her to and would pay more money for that. The response to my review says they don't have me in their system. Well, you don't because I would never leave my dog with you because of the poor interaction of your staff.
