We have been loyal clients for 10+ years. Today, I took one of our dogs in for a dental cleaning, which included an x-Ray, antibiotics, pain injection, and one extraction. It was over $500. Last month, when we picked them up from boarding, we waited nearly an hour for somebody to show up. Their service has consistently gone downhill since Terri left and their prices (which were already outrageous) have gone up. We will never return.

People are friendly and they are good with the animals. My issue is the cost. We went in because our dog had an accident on the floor and had been rubbing her ears on the furniture like they itched. The vet did a physical evaluation and said he couldn't find anything wrong. Without discussion of money, he gave her an injection for $120 and sent us out with two medications (~$60). On top of the visit fee and the fecal inspection we are out almost $300 without any diagnosis of any issue. Left feeling confused and taken advantage of.

This place used to be amazing. The workers were competent and kept their word. We have boarded our Great Dane there many times, and have never had an issue with FHPH OR any other place we have used, and have never had bad reports about our baby, or issues with staff. But. A couple months back I was asked to start clearly labeling all of her stuff, and was told it was because they had several new employees, who were having trouble remembering procedures. And came home a couple of times without everything I had sent. However, herein lies my reason to decide to leave a review. This last time I boarded, I was clear up front about when we would be coming back, told that late Saturday was fine…. But when my husband pulled up at the 5:30 pickup time, and arrived to an empty, open vet clinic, with no human anywhere around. He walked around and called “helloooooo.” Nothing. Nothing aside from some shuffling sounds in an office. he could’ve easily gotten to anyone’s pet, if he wanted to. (So. FYI if you choose to board there.) Chalked it up to a mistaken door left unlocked. So, I came back at 2 of their other weekend pickup times, to find zero people there. Then, when we went back on the next Monday, they tried to charge me and blame ME for not prepaying, when they asked for zero prepayment at the time of drop off. When we refused to pay for the extra day, they very quickly and suddenly came up with a story about my dog refusing to get back in the cage when she was told, and suddenly she is both stubborn and aggressive, with ZERO other reports of such. Interesting. Never, ever a report before. EVER. Not to mention, they said they couldn’t board her anymore Bc of her size, which had also never been mentioned, but encouraged me to keep using them for treatment and veterinarian maintenance…a week after I paid less than half the amount of money for exact MEDICAL treatment and quality, elsewhere. Boarding is priced well…but shots and boosters are around double what most other places charge. When I inquired about why THAT was, the girl said, verbatim: “I mean. I know it’s much, much more than other places charge, but we live near Fianna and people will pay it.” And, maybe he was right. Maybe my dog suddenly had a personality change for no reason whatsoever, but either way, he refused to even come out and speak with us about it at the clinic, when he had plenty of opportunity. Forced his helpers to relay all of his excuses. Didn’t mind to leave my husband waiting, though, before deciding he couldn’t come enforce his own decisions. And his poor workers were so apologetic and also said they thought it was asinine of him, too, but “we just work here.” So. Nah. There are much better places for both you and your furbaby’s time, when even the employees are apologizing on behalf of the veterinarian, for more than one issue. I expect the response will now be a change of request…from keeping my girl’s vet business there, to them now being glad that I found another solution. But please. Price around before you decide it’s the best place for medicine.
