| 2/10 Cancelled in 2007 - Best Decision Ever |
| This was a company that has changed 2-3 owners since I signed with them in 1998. The rates progressed every year and ended being $80 for 2 cats, per month. This was more than MY health insurance.
After the 2nd claim denial on my Gabrielle (who was in renal failure), I decided that $720 per year would be best spent going into a personal account for them.
I would recommend Pets Best Insurance... recently found them as a partner link to my Aetna PPO site, and they have lived up to the hyoe and expectations.
My older cat developed a serious issue, I paid $2400 to take care of it, and was reimbursed by them within a month.
I am going to rate this company as POOR, due to high fees and low payouts. This was not a pre-existing condition.

| 8/10 Good insurance but could be better |
| This is a good insurance company but I have petplan for my new puppy and it is much more comprehensive. They do pay a good portion of my claims in a timely manner but there is a $100 per incident ded. and then the cover 90%. The other one is $50 per incident with a 100% coverage. My dog has a couple of reoccuring problems that they deducted the incident fee for each time. They are will to reevaluate it but they require specific wording from the vet. More headache then I would like to deal with and multiple vet visits for different illnesses can get costly throughout the year. |

| 8/10 A Lifesaver |
| I have always had cats. Within 3 years though I had one with Kidney Infection and he died, I couldn't treat, was too late. I decided with next cat to get insurance. I got Petwatch immediately. Within 6 months of owning my cat (was about 2 yrs old)- I found him on top of my dryer in laundry room shaking, I knew something was wrong. I rushed to pet hospital, vet said looks like whole mouth, tongue, throat was burned. Figured out he must've drank bleach or toliet cleaner off floor when I cleaned toliets. He was in oxegyn room for 3 days, in hospital total of a week, I had to tube feed him for 4 weeks. Petwatch said if bleach, not covered, if toliet bowl cleaner, covered. Well, it was determined toliet bowl cleaner after all I just cleaned toliets. I don't recommend using the blue toliet bowl cleaner to anyone and don't leave your lids up, make sure none on the floor. Anyway, claim was around $2400 and I got a check for around $2200 with a month. My cat was saved and is doing well today, although he can't annoying meow anymore, he is very healthy. Well worth it. |

| 1/10 Very disappointed ex-customer |
| We signed up for Petcare QuickCare Optimum (a plan name no longer listed but I had been told on a different occasion that all the features were grandfathered) when we first brought home our puppy (13 weeks old). Around the age of 1 year we discovered she had a congenital back problem. Last year we had multiple claims. Although, we did get reimburse for some of our claims, it was difficult to guess at how much the reimbursement would be due to their rates for usual and customary costs.
I filed a claim for an annual check up (supposedly covered) plus blood work. I did not hear anything back so I called to check on whether it was being processed only to be told that there was a problem. According to the representative they wouldn't reimburse for anything that wasn't a new condition for that policy year. In other words any condition, which was ongoing could only be eligible for the first year it was claimed, after that first year anything to do with that condition was excluded from coverage. Now, that was not my understanding when I signed on. My understanding was that pre-existing conditions would be excluded and as my dog was diagnosed six months after the start of our policy there shouldn't have been any problem.
I was shocked and at first thought I was misunderstanding what was being said but no I had heard this correctly.
My only options were to:
a) Continue to donate the premiums to PetCare knowing that my only hope of any reimbursement would be if my dog developed so |

| 9/10 Great service over 13 years, well worth the money |
| I have had PetCare since both my cats were kittens. I learned the hard way with my first two cats how awful it was to not have money when a pet is ill.
They have covered much of my one cats thyroid, testing and pills. And still do.
I recently lost my younger cat to cancer and the bill was around 1300.00 and then another 200.00 for the euthanasia. They paid about 900.00 due to the deductable of 250.00 as he was over 10 (which makes sense as yes pet will get sicker more as they get older and these people are in the business to make money as to be expected) and the co payment.
They also send condolensence with the last cheque and when I called to end his policy they said it was taken care of as they know when they see the awful words euthanasia what needs to be done. I have the MasterCare Plus plan.
I have always received payment within seven to fourteen business days. Their customer service has become 100% better than it use to be just a couple of years ago. I remember being on hold over an hour now there is always a CSR within two to five minutes. They have an auto caller that lets you know your claim was received and another to say a cheque was issued. This is a great feature. I figure that there use to only be two pet insurance in Canada way back when but now with more coming in they have had to become better at customer service and they have.
I do disagree with the co-payment as I figure the deductable should stand on its own and things have not al |

| 9/10 Dependable |
| Gee that's too bad about the denials. I have had 24 PetWatch for many years. I have had very good response to my dogs needs through cancers and heart disease and urinary tract problems and surgeries. We have had dogs sent flying to ER's for injuries and other horrible things. 24 PetWatch has always been there for us. We did have one episode that we thought should be covered, but with an adopted dog, an elderly one at that it was not. I am a great proponent for pet health insurance. Setting aside money is a nice thought but in today's world, often not very practical for your pets care. I would suggest not throwing the baby out with the bath water with this. Search out some other companies and make comparisons. There is an insurance company out there for you and your pets. JUST, keep them insured. |

| 5/10 large bills seem to be a problem |
| i thought the coverage was good, i have 2 dogs covered under the highest prmeium. my cane corso wasn't a year and a half yet when she injured her leg and needed a repair, she had to have a 4000.00 surgery. i was reimbersed 3500.00. sadly 9 momths later she injured her other leg and needed the same surgery, another 4000.00. after the surgery and after the claim was put in i was told once a scelator sergury was done she wasn't covered for any more for any kind of skeleton surgery again. even if it is in a different part of the body. boy, did that hurt. it seems a bit silly to me. and i am paying a very high price for my dogs to be covered. with no wellness coverage or medicine. have to find a better insurance for the money. not too happy with them |

| 8/10 Pretty Easy |
| I had this insurance for my dog for most of her life. It was a great plan. I had 100% coverage (illness or injury) with a $50 deductible per condition with a $3000 max per condition per year.
My pit bull needed a few surgeries (cancer, blown ACL, tumors) and they were always covered. I would send the claim form to my vet and they would fax it over and a few weeks later I would get a check from the insurance minus my $50 deductible.
My only problem with them was that they didn't cover her preventative care (vaccines) and her allergies. She had severe allergies and constantly needed medicine for them.
Although that was frustrating, I was grateful that the surgeries were all covered.
I know they don't offer my plan anymore. I think they offer a 20/80 split plan now and they have preventative plans now too.
I would recommend them. |
