Thank goodness for Healthy Paws
We are so thankful that we signed up our dog up with Healthy Paws when we adopted her a little over 3 years ago. She just had her second TPLO surgery and the coverage saved us! The ease and wonderful customer service are just excellent!

Great service for our dog!
Our dog needed emergency surgery and all the claim details were figured out without a hassle during the very stressful time. My in-laws are looking into changing their pet insurance to Trupanion. Nothing but good things to say! thank you!

Had some invoice processing issues
The first time I submitted my invoices on the website, I got the initial emails saying they were received. But weeks went by and nothing happened (and I didnât contact customer support sooner due to message at top of web site indicated system upgrade was slowing claims). When I did call, agent had no record of the invoices and suggested that app was more reliable for invoice submission, noting I should have received a follow up email a couple of days after the initial email. When I resubmitted them, they were process quickly and indicated they were paid, but no money was deposited into my bank account. So I followed up with customer support again and I was told they attempted to send funds to me but my bank had no record of the account number ( I accidentally transposed the last two digits). Iâm told a check was sent instead. My frustration comes from the lack of communication about the bank issue. If I hadnât followed up with customer support, I would not have known there was a check sent to me. I couldâve corrected my account number if I received an email notifying me about the problem with the bank account and now, after waiting well over a month from my initial submission, I have to pray the check isnât stolen and washed in my local post office because there is someone rogue working there. Iâm only giving a high rating on the claim because customer support when contacted was always helpful, and because I know how fast claims are processed when paid directly to oneâs vet ( which in this case wasnât an option).

The conversation with the person was great.
The conversation with the person was great. She was very professional and I appreciated her help. My concern is that the company labeled my dogs symptoms with something that has now been deemed a preexisting condition with no other proof than the symptoms. They are saying that her ear infections, which has NOT reoccurred was a symptom of something larger. When my husband brought my dog in for a discoloration on her skin I was worried about and asked certain questions, no regard was taken for the fact that when I discussed same things with the vet, my answers were different. Problem is my husband doesn't know why a question is being asked and therefore most of his answers were yes and no. There was no clarifying information at the time of the question so that he could make an informed response. So the insurance company has taken those responses and made a judgement call. I think there needs to be more scientific proof of a condition before you label it. Also I am not sure why her upcoming spay surgery isn't covered. One of the things people get insurance for is to t help be responsible pet parents and for insurance to not help with an important health benefit for the dog is in my eyes against that. Its not the person on the end of the phones fault. She did a great job spending the time to go through the records and getting answers for my questions and being respectful of my point of view. I just don't know I would have gotten insurance in the first place for these reasons no matter which company I went through. I am considering dropping the insurance and just starting a savings account to save up for things.
