Making the Worst Month a Little Better

Embrace has been fantastic. Our cat Willow died after a two-week sudden illness. There were ED visits, home visit, more ED visits, inpatient critical care stays.... it was really adding up. But I just couldn't give up without giving her a chance to respond to treatment. But she just was too sick to come back to us. I was maxing out the credit cards, but I knew I'd get some back once Embrace started processing the claims. After she died, the claim process was easy and efficient. No additional emotional trauma fighting with carriers for coverage. About a week after submission, the checks began to come in the mail. The credits cards are looking better and better. Also, a week after Willow died, a client of my husband's told him that based on our recommendation, she insured her cats with Embrace and had an expensive hospitalization that was covered. My husband got a big tip from her. So, basically, thanks Embrace. I'd give back all the money for one more day with Willow. But you made one of the worst months of my life a little bit better.

Pleased

My dog was vomiting with blood so I needed to have some xrays with resulted in the need for an ultrasound. I brought my claim forms and had the vets fax to Trupanion, with in a week I had received reimbursement for the % covered. Its a relief to know that if my pup is sick I dont' have to stress the cost of medical bills. I am very pleased with the insurance I have.

Over-the-Moon for Healthy Paws!

My 4-month old puppy Pepper got seriously ill after we sprayed our yard for ticks. We had to rush her to the Emergency Clinic where they had to keep her overnight to run several tests and give her all fluids and various medications intravenously. They sent us home on a Sunday with 4 different medications. I submitted the claim on Monday and they completed their review on Wednesday! In addition to the efficient and speedy claims processing, I received a personal email from them on Sunday asking how our little Pepper was! This wasn't one of those emails that automatically goes out after a few days--it even referenced what had happened to Pepper and told me to give her a hug from Healthy Paws! This level of customer service is rare--I was a VPI client for almost 14 years with my previous dog (may she rest), and never did I get an email like that. Human medical insurance companies could learn a thing or two from Healthy Paws! It's no wonder they are consistently rated one of the best pet insurance companies out there. Their insurance packages are, themselves, impressive enough--but that kind of customer service is really second to none. As other reviewers have said, they really treat their clients like family.

30 Refund Policy Exclusions

I am disappointed in Embrace. After signing up two 6 year old dogs and receiving their medical history review, I realized that one of my dogs has way too many policy exclusions to justify coverage. If you went to your vet to complain about ANYTHING-even if the doc only noted it and didn't diagnose your dog, it's pre-existing. Well, since I am in the 30-day "refund" (haha) period I requested a cancellation and refund for only 1 dog. They said they'd give me only a "prorated" amount of 5 bucks because I am not cancelling the whole policy. This is specified NOWHERE in their 30-day refund details. I've only been with them for 23 days and I already don't trust them.

Wouldn't Be Without Embrace!

My Sadie is a 4 1/2 year old German Shepherd Dog with health problems which have cost a lot of money. Without Embrace Pet Insurance, I don't know how I could have kept up with her ongoing care. Embrace has been fantastic - they are in constant communication with me regarding Sadie's many vet visits. Their direct deposit into my checking account is quick and their Explanation of Benefits is so easy to read. Thanks, Embrace!

Wonderful experience!

We signed up with Healthy Paws after adopting our puppy as they were recommended to us as being the best insurance company. A month after we got our puppy Cocoa, she hurt her knee and needed surgery. It was a tough time for us, but having Healthy Paws made things that much easier. After Cocoa's procedures, I scanned in all her vet's medical records and invoices for our claim. Within a day, Healthy Paws emailed us to let us know they needed the records from the hospital but that they were happy to call the hospital and obtain them for us. Since this was our first claim, they mentioned it may take a little longer to process, but we had our reimbursement check in our hands within 2 weeks after the claim. Everything was covered that they said would be. There were no questions asked. We also received an email from Healthy Paws a few weeks afterwards to check in on Cocoa. Based on their efficiency and professionalism, I would highly recommend Healthy Paws!

I am so happy I chose Embrace.

After a year of debating if getting a puppy was a good idea, We took home our little Pug (Maddie) in the summer of 2014. Being a first time pet owner I had a million questions about everything. Our Vet gave us some brochures on pet insurance. I literally spent weeks comparing them all. I am so glad that I chose Embrace. They have been wonderful. We completed the medical history review which is great because it doesn't leave you wondering what they will or won't cover. Maddie developed generalized demodicosis with a secondary infection. She also has a food allergy and possibly some other allergy that made diagnosis a little more tricky. Embrace has covered almost everything from the Vet, to the Dermatologist, to a second dermatologist opinion. There was one time a claim was denied because the adjuster felt it was a skin problem that fell under pre-existing conditions. But the appeal process was simple and easy I submitted a visit summary from the vet that I get after every visit and in like 1 week it was approved. Customer service is excellent. The only reason I gave a 9 instead of a 10 was I think there is some room for improvement in the area of submitting claims like uploading them to the website instead of mailing them. Also there call wait times can be long But they never try to rush you off the phone. I would highly recommend Embrace pet insurance to anyone who is getting a puppy. It is the best money I have spent on her.
