The Best!
I have had nothing but good experiences with my Trupanion and I am so glad to have gotten when my dog was a puppy. I would recommend and I do recommend it to all my dog friends.

Claims submission process is a breeze
I submitted a claim for my dog's recent Wellness visit. The claims submission process itself is a breeze- I love only needing to attach my invoice and not input the claim manually line by line. Once I submitted the claim I was shown the estimated turnaround time based on current claim volume. When my claim was taking a little bit longer than usual to process, Pets Best proactively let me know with an email note and apology (instead of waiting for me to get frustrated and reach out to them for an update) which I really appreciated. Once the claim was processed they emailed me again to let me know and included a very easy to understand explanation of what was paid/not paid and exactly why.

Disappointed in coverage
There's nothing you can fix at this time. I was a first time GSD owner and also first time buying pet insurance. I wish that someone had explained to me that my coverage does not include hip dysplasia and that I should get my insurance from another provider that does because GSDs even though you are told by breeder their hips are fine, they aren't. I am left with a purepred GSD who has two bad hips that would need replacement and she is only 4. Unfortunately, we don't have $5000 for this type of surgery. So I have alot to be upset about. Your company should cover hip dysplasia surgery. For now, we just manage and hope that doesn't occur for a long time. Thank you.

Filing claim took less than 5 minutes
First time claim, very satisfied with the process and decision. To file the claim took less than 5 minutes. The amount went towards my deductible.

HUGE premium ($110 monthly and NO COVERAGE FOR AN ACUTE BOUT OF DIARRHEA!
Trupanion is a bad company. My dog is a small, healthy mixed breed, and is now 11 years old. I have been paying through the nose for Trupanion since he was 7 years old. He had a about of acute hemhorraghic gastroenturitis and they denied the claim, saying it was a "pre-exisiting condition" after the online customer service rep said it was denied because it was dietary indiscretion that caused it. I told her the vets were not sure what caused it. Then she said it was a pre-existing condition because he had it in 2015!!!!! 4 years ago my dog had bloddy diarrhea and is a chronic, pre-existing condition. All medical info on the subject agrees that there is no way to knowwhy a dog has a bout of this. It could be stress. It could be a virus. It could be dietary indiscretion. Do you mean to tell me that if a big old lab eats a bag of rocks, they wont cover emergency services because of dietary indiscretion? REALLY? Wow, then why dont they cover socialized adult people instead of dogs?
