One claim, premiums increased
We submitted one claim through healthy pet insurance earlier this year. Once the claim was resolved, which they did pay, they increased our rates by about 40%. Now, three months later I get our renewal with another substantial increase. From prior to the claim to now, the premium has almost doubled. I disputed this with customer service and was ghosted. There are lots of other better pet health insurance policies out there.

Love Healthy Paws!
I've had Healthy Paws for my cat Figgy since 2017. Before I adopted her, I researched various options and felt healthy paws was the easiest for me to understand and communicated with online. They've helped with unexpected pet bills and in the five years with them my monthly rate has only increased by $10. Healthy Paws is amazing!

Human Insurance Should Be This Good!
We have used Healthy Paws for eight years now, for both of our rescue pups. I have never been without pet insurance and always will have it, with the hope that I don't have to use it. Unfortunately, one of our dogs has had a string of bad luck in two years, with two ACL surgeries back to back, and then getting a foxtail embedded in his face. He also has a heart condition so every single procedure comes with risk. Because of Healthy Paws, our pup Clark (as well as his sister Bella) has been able to get the care he needed. We have shelled out thousands of dollars- and it's always so much more than what is submitted (including MANY trips to the pet store for needs, diet changes when his tummy hurts due to meds, etc). The minute I file a claim with Healthy Paws, I get an email saying they got my claim, then within a day or two, I have a claim number. Within a day or two after than, my reimbursement has been sent to my account. I am flabbergasted at how on top of it Healthy Paws is! I even got an email the other day asking how Clark is. It makes me want to cry. I wish human insurance could be so "patient centered". I never mind paying my monthly premium and I don't mind when it's raised, because I can't possibly say thank you enough to Healthy Paws for all they have done for our dogs. All pet owners should have insurance and hopefully NOT need it. But if they do, they will be glad they have it!

Never had Insurance before, glad I did!
I adopted a GSD under 1 year, no history but a sweet boy. Never owned pet insurance but kids advised it as their adopted GSD had issues. Glad I found ASPCA after much research. A senior myself with limited income, the insurance has paid for itself as CA Vets charge crazy prices, $75 just to walk in the door :0! I hit my $500 deductible quickly and have found ASPCA to be quick IN their reimbursement and easy to navigate. I will use them every year.

Peace of Mind
My dog suffered from renal dysplasia that was diagnosed when he was just 5 months. I will always be grateful to have had a policy with Pets Best as it allowed us to give him the very best of care throughout his short life without worrying about the cost. His prognosis when diagnosed was just 200-400 days. But because of the care I was able to give him he survived nearly 1000 days and had a wonderful life that was for the most part pain-free. I always tell everyone I know who gets a new pet to purchase a policy from Pets Best. Many tell me it's a waste of money and that they would never need to submit a claim. I tell them if they never submit a claim, they are lucky to have never needed it. But just looking at your dog, you would never know until it is too late. Pets Best always paid my claims cheerfully and without putting me through hoops. The times I called and talked to customer service I talked to empathetic, helpful, and courteous customer service agents. Despite that the amounts of my claims easily exceeded my annual premiums, Pets Best never increased my premium amounts.

Scam Pets Best really isn’t
Backtrack a couple years. My dog got a hematoma surgery. Then Applied Pets best got denied for this claim cause the incident happened before. Ok understood I get it. Fast track today he went in cause his ear had yeast and has bad allergies. We got denied again because the issue was from before? How so? I was paying for 2 years and this was developing months ago. They’ll find any excuse to deny you. Going to appeal but likely be cancelling today.

Pet Insurance is INVALUABLE
I took out Trupanion Insurance per the advice of our vet, in 2009, when our dog Mr. Bryce, (Rescued from an abusive situation), a German Shep/Golden Retriever and Chow mix, was one year old. Trupanion paid 90% coverage for the same condition, of which for most of his life was occasional Colitis-related. When he was eleven, he had anal cancer and once again - 90% coverage/reimbursement for his cancer treatment. The treatment extended his life by two years. When I had to let him go due to the cancer advancing, Trupanion paid 90% for euth services at home. We used the services of Hearts and Halos, for home euth, which I strongly recommend. Our previous dog, Bruce, a Golden Retriever, had cancer as well - a Melanoma, and we didn't have insurance - cost us upwards of $5,000 for treatment, which sadly, didn't give him a sizeable life extension. Following that experience, pet insurance was nothing to consider. If we ever have another dog, will take out insurance again - although I'd have to consider other pet insurance as well. Since the time I had it, I see it's a more competitive field.

Stay away from this fraudulent organization!
I implore you to stay away!! This origination is horrible. I submitted several claims for a simple dental procedure and Pets Best found any possible way (all wrong) to deny my claim. They stated that my Vet did not include diagnosis information on the medical records, which was entirely inaccurate. I reviewed the medical records personally and the information they requested was literally right there, front and center. It is impossible to get hold of anyone on the phone or via email. Look elsewhere!!!!

Regarding the premium increase you mentioned our customer care team explained via emails that your pet was enrolled as a certain breed. Though we rely on the information provided by anyone enrolling a pet, we understand mistakes may be made. During a routine audit of your pet's medical records, a breed correction was made. To ensure accuracy and compliance with insurance regulations, we needed to update the premium. Charging premiums based on accurate pet details allows us to provide our features and benefits with no annual or lifetime caps. The second increase was an annual premium adjustment that takes place on your policy anniversary date. Your premiums are calculated on a state-by-state basis in accordance with filings that have been approved by state insurance regulators. In each state, premiums are affected by multiple factors including age, breed, sex, zip code, and the particular combination of reimbursement and deductible on a plan.
