Excellent customer service

Recently, our 7 month old Yorkshire Terrier fractured his left radius and ulna. After a trip to emergency vet, and two visits to regular vet, it was determined that the fracture wasn't healing properly, and would require surgery. The Orthopedic Surgeon placed a plate with seven screws in his leg. He is now beginning his recovery. We should like to say how extremely happy we are we decided on Healthy Paws for our pet insurance company. This company as already exceeded our expectations. We received prompt reimbursement within days of claim submission! We have even received emails inquiring as to how our little boy is doing!! How many companies do that!!! Not only do they provide the very best customer service, they actually care about you and your pet. We would highly recommend that anyone that is researching pet insurance, put Healthy Paws at the top of your list!!

Do Not Go with this Company

I paid $35 a month for 8 years and had 8 claims. After taking out the $100.00 deductible and only covering 80% I received maybe $1,050 back of the $4,000 I paid over this time. The last year I had the plan my dog had 4 bladder infections, when she got a 5th one they refused to cover it, they now considered this a pre-existing condition, which they do not cover. They let me know that any future claims that relate in any way to the bladder (such as a yeast infection) will NOT be covered. Then they refused to use my bills towards the $100.00 deductible. My general feeling is as long as your claim amounts are low and are infrequent they will cover you, if you begin to turn in multiple claims they find a loophole or way to say it's related to a pre-existing condition. I cancelled my plan ASAP.

Max Renal Failure Treatment

My beloved Max, a Malamute/GS mix who is approx 13.5 years was dx with Renal Failure this past July. Trupanion was Excellent! They answered every question, they were prompt, and most importantly, they were all very kind during a very difficult time. They live up to every word and beyond of what they promise.

5 Years as a Customer and Still Loving It!

Pets Best has been great to work with over the past 5 years. When I have made claims in the past, they were always processed quickly and efficiently. Additionally, when I needed to make changes to my policy, the customer service rep was friendly, informed and handled my request with great professionalism!

PLEASE READ, very important congenital information

We recently just got an Irish Setter puppy so we were new to the pet insurance stuff. After what I thought was months of thorough reviewing I decided Pet's Best was the best choice out there. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION: Our 6 month old pup just got diagnosed with one of the rarest heart defects a dog could ever get. No worries, I thought, I have pet insurance. Nope. Pet's Best DOES NOT cover any congenital issues. Please make sure to get an insurance plan that covers congenital problems. Trust me, we never thought our puppy could have anything wrong, especially since Irish Setters rarely have health problems. We just got dealt a really really crappy hand. Now we will be dealing with an $8,000-$10,000 bill, if open heart surgery can even be done. So please take my advice and pay the extra money for congenital coverage from another company.
