Impressed, pleased and longtime customer
Gabby is 10. I purchased VPI at age 2. She was discovered to be diabetic 4 years ago. The coverage has been wonderful. Along the way, she had an ACL tear repaired and a mast cell tumor removed. By having VPI coverage, the vet medical expenses these past 4 years has been covered at an amazingly high level. In one circumstance, I was somewhat disappointed by the covered level repayment. I called to inquire hoping to better understand the claim limitation. Much to my surprise the customer claims rep took the time to further drill down into the case history. Once she heard more of the history, she offered me an opportunity to resubmit the claim. To my surprise my reimbursement increased from $25 to $450. I was extremely pleased by her willingness to help. Frankly, she could have explained it as $25 is all we pay.... Just in the past 18 months, I have received approximately $3600 in reimbursements. I am happy to recommend VPI to friends and pet enthusiast every chance I get. It has made my pet's medical care much more affordable, as well as limiting any hesitancy toward the best treatment plans for her.

10 years and still extremely satisfied
Its very comforting to know as my pet gets older that I only have to worry about the quality of care, not whether I can afford the care.

Avoid VPI/Nationwaide
Just received my policy renewal from Nationwide, formerly VPI. Premium went up 32% for my 8 yo Boxer who has had almost no claims!!! Last year declined a fairly large bill for a screening Holter Monitor because I had UPGRADED my policy 362 days before and the Holter was excluded for a year. The upgrade cancelled the previous policy and I got screwed. I appealed since she had had VPI since 8 wks old and I got a form letter denial of appeal.

Acute Renal Failure in Beagle covered
I am so grateful to the Embrace staff and that I had coverage for my beagle, who developed renal failure after NSAID treatment. The renal failure was caught quickly and treated promptly and my reimbursement was expedient.

Extraordinary coverage and service.
After a fairly routine TPLO (tibial plateau osteotomy) my Newfoundland became seriously ill-his platelets started to decline in number and he was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. Essentially his immune system perceived his platelets as the enemy and started to destroy them. The battle began and it entailed suppressing his immune system and waiting for his platelets to recover. They did. This entailed nearly a week in Critical Care and I know that without having the coverage that I opted for with Embrace, my sweet dog and I would not have been able to win this particular battle. Embrace covered the TPLO and the Critical Care costs in a timely and compassionate manner.

No hassle, exactly as promised
Healthy Paws fulfilled their contract ($1300) with no hassle. First time submitting a claim and still only took a few days. Called after asking the vet to fax history to hp, they had not received it but the rep offered to do something previously unexperienced by me. They took ownership of the scenario and offered to call my get to get that history themselves. It seems like a small thing, but not having to play middle man between an insurance company and a service provider is amazing. Between customer service and straight forward fufillment of terms, I wish my insurance was run by the folk at healthy paws.
We rescued two starved and mistreated huskies as our first dogs because we love black diamond difficult challenges. There is a lot we can control, but there are a few things we cannot. It's nice to be able to offer pets that have had a hard road so far a much higher quality of life, while knowing you have the support needed if things don't go exactly as planned. Thank you healthy paws!

Trupanian is the bees knees!
I have a dog insured with VPI and one with Trupanian, there is no comparision. Trupanian is a dependable partner in maintaining my dog's health, they respond to claims with an email confirmation, and I have had claims settled in under 24 hrs, never more than 3 days. Compare this to 2 weeks to 1 month for VPI. Claims are paid promptly, and at the level expected. I adore Trupanian and will be a loyal customer for future pets.
