Absolute ripoff
Absolute ripoff, like most insurance companies. I have two young German shepherd dogs (under 3 years old) so I wanted to get a good pet insurance while they are young. I did my research like most, though with insurance it is difficult because most reviews are on sites they pay or their own website.
I had 2 claims come up during my time in having the pet insurance. I’m both instances, the issue is they will do everything in their power to deny the claim in the hopes you will give up trying to get reimbursed. In our cases, they kept saying that “after multiple attempts, they were unable to obtain the necessary medical records to process the claim.” So I went ahead and called my vet hospital to verify if the information was sent. Not only was the information was sent, but twice! After multiple frustrating calls to ASPCA, they were able to “find” the documents, but it always seemed to conveniently found a way to miss them or they claimed they don’t receive them. I think what really goes on is that if they can’t find a good reason to deny it medically, they will say they can’t obtain some record and just hope the person submitting the claim will give up. Well we didn’t give up and it took a few tries but we got our money and cancelled the insurance, never looking back.
