Better check the fine print!

I read all the great reviews so I was eager to enroll. My dogs are completely healthy but needed their annual checkup/shots and a dental cleaning. I pay $186 a month for my pets and that is taken out immediately from my account without delay, but when it comes to reviewing a claim it has taken almost 3 weeks before ASPCA even looked at it. Now they want a complete history of my pets. I could understand if they are checking for pre-existing conditions, but this claim applies only to the add on benefit of annual shots, teeth cleaning, standard checkup, etc. it has nothing to do with a potential previous health condition plus they are completely healthy. Now after three weeks ASPCA can no longer process my claim without obtaining previous medical records. My pets are not injured or sick so why is the claim on hold??? Also… if you paid for premium services when your pet is seen by a Veterinarian, but then decide to go to a less expensive plan, the entire previous claim made under the premium plan will be applied to the new less coverage plan even though you paid for premium services during your pets visit. Lastly, if you are not satisfied and want to choose a different provider or just cancel a policy, there is no online option and you must contact customer service by email. This tells me they will do everything they can to delay termination of a contract. Who knows how long a response will take… Im sure it will be delayed until after your next premium is deducted..To cancel you also have to provide a reason for canceling…it’s none of their business! If I want to cancel and stop the auto deduction from my credit card or bank it should be straight forward and easy. Others may be happy with this service but I see this as just another big “non profit” scam to separate you from your money without providing quality service.

I have been very pleased with this company

I have very pleased with this company, been with them for many years and have 4 pets on polcy. One of them our Isabella recently passed away sadly and this company was great covering all her claims for extended illneses, I would not have been able to afford her care if not. Premiums are expensive but you never doubt tha they will cover all claims. Highly recommend to all pet owners and start covering from young age and stay with same policy. Thank you ASPCA for always beeing there for my sweet Isabella.
