How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Dr Lisa and the staff at BluePearl pet hospital are the absolute best. The facility is clean and they really take care of your pet like it’s one of their own. When I was there it was one of the hardest days of my life, but the staff was so sweet and accommodating which made it easier. They even give you hugs if you need one. I would 100% recommend taking your pet here for the best care ever. 💓

Our lil 10 yr old Irish Wolfie mix, Killian Baine, was diagnosed with Carcinoma bone cancer in his front right wrist in October of 2023. Our vet told us our best bet to stop it from progressing quickly was to remove his leg. One of THE hardest decisions we have ever had to make for any of our fur babies. This also came after he had already gone through double knee surgery one year prior at Ebensburg Animal Hospital, which our baby recovered from amazingly. So when we got this news it broke our hearts to pieces, how could this be happening to the sweetest boy...now he has to become a Tripawd too! Plus the fact he would need to under go 6 months of Chemotherapy! Blue Pearl's surgical center did an amazing job with the surgery and aftercare. Killian is absolutely an amazing Tripawd. He still does EVERYTHING he did before! Including swimming, hiking, zoomies, climbing up or down stairs and his favorite... digging new holes to hide in. He's still our crazy wild Wolfie! Most of that is because of the cancer team at Blue Pearl and Killian's wonderful Oncologist Dr. Erfourth. You can see the compassion and care that they give to our baby and to us because they know our doggies are truly our babies and we will do whatever it takes for them to live full, happy, healthy lives because we love them unconditionally just as they love us. Killian went through Chemo like a champ. It has now been almost 1 year since diagnosis and Killian is doing absolutely amazing. If it wasn't for Dr. Erfourth and the Oncology team we may have already lost this precious boy. They keep you updated every step of the way and give you such hope from the very beginning. Killian is truly the sweetest lil entity and is such an empath. If he even thinks you are hurting, hears you crying, or knows you're sick, he immediately runs to your side to take care of you and love you with the purest love there is... the love from your fur baby! Everyone at Blue Pearl sees this in him. They just love him and are pulling for him every moment. They truly care and love the animals they care for. I will never be able to thank all of them enough for giving us the gift of keeping our Killy alive and strong. We will be thankful to them forever for giving us whatever extra time we have with Killian and we pray everyday that Killian stays healthy and is here with us for a long time to come. Killian thanks you too!! Our sincerest thanks to all of you who work so hard to care for these innocent, loving, angels on Earth! God Bless you all! ~~Jessica & Adam W.~~

They saved my dogs life in the middle of the night. Called at 11 at night with a sick dog and they saw him as soon as we got there and performed life saving surgery on my German Shepherd for bloat. They called me early in the morning letting me know he made it through surgery. They monitored him for a day and took good care of him. I’m so glad they were able to see him because the other two emergency vets I contacted were at capacity or not equipped for surgery. So thankful for blue pearl seeing him or my boy wouldn’t have made it! He’s home now doing well and getting rest!

I couldn't be happier or more comfortable with my first visit at Blue Pearl. From the first, prompt, call from them to make the appointment to the appointment itself my Lucy and I were welcomed and treated with patience, kindness and caring. Every procedure was explained and discussed and we were well informed on all the issues. They treated my senior doggo with great care and kindness. We are very happy and they even got us in early -Will be back Diana and Lucy

Dr. Erfourth and his team have genuinely saved our dog’s life after her cancer came back. Another vet at a different practice told us there were no treatment options when we decided to get a second opinion through PVSEC. Thanks to Dr. Erfourth, she’s completely symptom free from both the anti-cancer medication and cancer thanks to his care and attention to detail. You would never know she’s 12 years old with a few dormant tumors in her lungs! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to save our girl and give us a few more great years together.
