How to Save Money at Animal Wellness Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Rose Dileva is the best Vet out there by far! She took care of my yorkie Jack for years and he had a few health concerns. After acupuncture, holistic medicine, CBD, a good diet, etc, he is still alive and well and 17 yrs old! She also takes care of our 12 yr old Japenese Chin sophie and provides the best care for her we could find. Very knowledgeable in dogs diet, nutrition and supplements to take so they can be set up for a successful long lasting life! Love her and her staff!

Dr Rose has cared for all our dogs and cats. She is wonderful and caring, as is her staff. Dr Rose was able to correctly diagnose a terrible skin allergy on our Keeshond after several local vets did not. After that we were sold on her practice. Dr Rose's mix of holistic and traditional medicine offers a more complete wellness plan.

Roger Thundercat and I absolutely adore Dr. DiLeva and her whole team. Roger kept having really nasty recurring upper respiratory issues that we'd been to our conventional-only vet for multiple times and antibiotics didn't seem to be helping. I found Dr. DiLeva when looking for a veterinary acupuncturist, and she introduced me to ozone therapy. Total game changer for Roger. His URIs got less frequent and less intense, and while they haven't gone away entirely, they're very mild when he does get them now. But I was also shocked that after his very first ozone treatment, there was already a huge change in him -- he was playing like a kitten again. I didn't realize how much he'd "slowed down" until that. (He was about 5 or 6 at the time) Then, last year when my young rat terrier started having horrible skin issues, I took her to Dr. DiLeva as well. She suggested allergy testing, and it turned out Thea was allergic to just about everything -- which in hindsight, explained why she was such a picky eater. I never would have eliminated it all by guesswork. Once we got the food allergens out of her diet, her environmental allergies don't seem to give her any trouble -- which is exactly what Dr. DiLeva said would happen. She's been such a huge help to our pets, and the whole team is so kind. Lastly, because Dr. DiLeva introduced me to ozone in the first place, when my mom's horse was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, I was able to find an ambulatory equine vet to administer ozone therapy to her as well (in conjunction with an herbal protocol). We're about 7 months post-diagnosis, and while our time is likely winding down, having the ozone as part of our toolkit has been a huge help in extending her runway and quality of life these past several months. Huge thanks to Dr. DiLeva for ALL of her help, so I can do better for our whole crew. We cannot thank you enough!

We credit Dr. DiLeva with saving our beloved kitty. She was only 6 years old when she suddenly stopped eating. We took her to our traditional vet, who suggested it was lymphoma, and recommended an expensive and invasive biopsy procedure, which would have cut our already suffering kitty open from stem to stern and not actually treated her in any way. A second opinion from another traditional vet recommended the same procedure. We were beside ourselves and didn't want to put our kitty through that trauma. My best friend suggested I look for a holistic vet in my area after being pleased with the holistic treatments for her terminally ill dog. I found Dr. DiLeva through a web search, and have never been more grateful. She did a blood test that was able to confirm with a high degree of probability that our kitty did indeed have lymphoma, and suggested an alternative treatment of high doses of Vitamin C through a series of infusions, as well as a change in diet and some tinctures and herbal treatments -- all for about the same cost as the biopsy! Dr. DiLeva allowed me to sit with my kitty during her infusions, which was so reassuring to both my kitty and me! We began seeing some results almost immediately, and I'm writing this today, a year and 2 months later... my kitty acts like a kitten again: jumping and playing and chasing chipmunks and birds from window to patio door to other patio door. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
