How to Save Money at GoodVets Boynton Beach

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My little buddy Ollie and I have had such great experiences with this location of GoodVets! We have been welcomed by the nicest and knowledgeable staff that take their time with you. We’ve never felt rushed. As a pet parent, they allow me to have confidence to entrust my little buddy in their hands. The location is clean and chic, just like the photos! I highly recommend GoodVets and have been telling everyone about this place.

I had the absolute most incredible experience here. This was the first vet I had brought my kitty to after a far move down the coast. I cannot express to you how incredibly welcoming and sweet all of the staff is here! They took incredible care of my baby, Ziggy. We all chatted happily and shared stories about our pets. When it came down to it, the bloodwork and exam was top notch. They were so sweet to my boy and even caught a mild ear infection that I didn’t even know about! I wholeheartedly recommend this vet. Doctor Rachael Siegel took care of us, she was great! The rest of the staff are SO friendly, as well. I will absolutely be returning and recommending this vet to the rest of my family!

I was able to get an appointment same day for my dog. After a through visit, my dog was put on some medicine and given a plan on how to treat his allergies moving forward. Went back for his two week check up and he’s doing 100% better. The staff here at good vets are all so nice, and it’s really a pleasant vet experience for both meatball me me!

I went to GoodVets just to get a second opinion on my dog’s medical condition, and it was the best decision I could have made. My dog Bella woke up one day in lots of pain but couldn’t find answers as to what was wrong with her. After going a few times to the first vet I decided to search for a second opinion and found GoodVets. From the moment Dr Llanes saw Bella I knew she was in good hands, and I knew this would be her new vet. The level of patience and care they gave Bella was amazing. Bella was in so much pain, she didn’t want anyone to touch her, but Dr Llanes and the vet tech took the time to show Bella they were there to help her. Dr Llanes was able to put her on a treatment plan to help her recover and it’s been working. The staff at GoodVets as well as Dr Llanes would call during the week to do random checks on Bella to see how she’s progressing. I will forever be grateful for how they went above and beyond in caring for Bella.

Best vets and staff in the world! The love and genuine caring shown for my boy Teddy is unmatched. Dr Tomasino, Ashley, Dr Siegel, and the rest of the staff are wonderful. They truly have the best interest of my pets as their top priority. Dr Tomasino has been Teddy’s vet since he was a puppy (6.5 years!) and she has always treated him with the same caring that she would her own pets. I can trust that Dr Tomasino will always recommend what is best for Teddy no matter what. Dr Siegel is our kitten Willow’s vet and she has been so great with her so far. The cat room is set up with an adorable cat tree, toys, and hideaways to help make your kitty feel comfortable. This brand new office is beautifully designed, sparkling clean and welcoming. I would recommend Dr Tomasino and her staff to anyone without hesitation.
