How to Save Money at Emergency Pet Hospital of Glendora

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

my rottie recently passed away on August 6th at the emergency pet hospital in glendora. On the 5th late evening we were at the diamond bar hospital because I noticed glendora was busy and he needed to be seen as he was declining fast. The diamond bar hospital has always been useful but never a nice experience. They refused to test my dog without anesthesia because of his breed. They also had us pay for medication knowing he wouldnt live long enough to use it while saying only a specialist could tell us if it was best to let him go. We carried him to the car hoping he'd get back up after anesthesia wore off but he never did. He went in with energy and a few short hours later he was in much worse condition and could no longer walk. Sunday morning we took him to the emergency pet hospital of glendora on glendora Ave. They were so kind and gentle with him. The only question they asked is if I wanted his cremated remains back and I expected to only get that as I didn't ask any questions. The vet was very compassionate and informative. He also shared personal details to let us know he felt our pain. 2 days later I received a card in the mail signed from all the staff. They told me at least 2 weeks for his ashes back but I was notified this evening they were ready. They not only gave me his ashes, they added a beautiful wooden box with a lock and key, they did a pawprint and I was so sad I wouldn't have one! They included the forget me not packet of seeds which was absolutely beautiful and his certificate. This was wrapped so beautifully in bubble wrap and in a cute little bag inside of a handy bag. His name plate is perfect and they did an amazing job with my sweet boy. I'm so glad we made the decision to take him home and come here for his final moments. I highly recommend them for emergency use especially when it's to say goodbye. I've done this with the pets of many family and friends and never have I had such a beautiful experience in such a sad time.

I loved the Dr. here. Thank goodness I have PerDesk so he looked at my dogs labs that had just been done at her vet so we did t have to take more blood. Meds given and she felt better the next day! From reading every review on here about this hospital. I feel that people are using this hospital as an actual clinic when they don’t take their animals for regular pet care. This causes them to be backed up and not be able to help animals that have true emergencies.

Amazing people, so kind and caring, I can't tell you how appreciative I am that this place is here and exists! To the staff; Thank You All! I saw how caring you all are not only to my baby but to so many others, and to us, the ones who love and care for them on a daily. Your job is not an easy one, but you all do it with so much heart Thank you again! And to anyone who needs a vet, Please if you need take your pets anywhere, I can't recommend them enough!

I wish I could give Emergency Pet Hospital of Glendora ten stars, they were AMAZING in our time of need and continue to be above and beyond a month after our visit. Our 15 year old lab was unable to use her back legs and had stopped eating. It was a Sunday and we couldn't stand to watch her suffer any longer. We called the hospital and they told us to come in anytime. We arrived, and they brought out a gurney to transport her. They were so gentle and treated her with great care while handling her. They explained the process from start to finish, fees were discussed up front (and it was cheaper than our regular vet with an appointment!). They prepped our baby with her IV then let us back into the room where she was all snuggled in a beautiful quilt, and let us have as long as we needed before they administered the meds. We had 7 family members in the room and we all got to say our goodbyes and be with her as she passed. We weren't rushed, and the whole thing was much more peaceful and settling than the past time we had to put a pet down at our regular vet. They told us we could stay as long as we wanted and to let them know when we were ready to leave. Six days later, I received a call that her remains were read y to pick up. I was pleasantly surprised to see the care taken in the presentation and handling of our baby. We got a cedar box with her remains, a plaster cast of her paw print and a little stand to place it on. It was all wrapped in a gift bag with an engraved name tag attached. A few weeks later we received a condolence card. I have found a new vet for all of our other furry friends. We were all so impressed with the care and compassion that the staff showed toward our family and our beloved doggo.

Had a great experience with the doctor taking care of my Milo. He explained everything in simple terms and thoroughly. If only they were a routine vet clinic, would definitely choose them. It’s hard finding caring vets instead of ones that only see your pet as a dollar sign.
