10/10   Good customer service, 3/20/2017

Reviewed By: Elizabeth , Recommend: Y

I chose PetPlan after researching several options. PetPlan covers the vet consultation cost, which the next best plan did not. My dachshund mix managed to get the safety seal off a box of dark chocolate and ate about 6 oz, which is a lot. When I got home his heart was racing and he was trembling non-stop. He had to spend the night at the animal hospital. PetPlan covered the claim quickly, with no hassle, according to my policy. Also Melissa D was so helpful, answering all my questions. My dog recovered fully - he had eaten a potentially fatal amount, so I'm glad I rushed him to the vet. I do my best to make sure he stays healthy and safe, but knowing I have PetPlan is reassuring.

10/10   Our dog had surgery for cancer on her leg., 3/17/2017

Reviewed By: Laura Foc, Recommend: Y

Our 7 yo dog had a mass growing on her front leg. She saw her vet, who referred us to an oncologist, who in turn referred us to a surgeon. The mass was taken off and a skin graft was placed at the site. When the pathology report came, we learned that it was cancerous, but thankfully they felt they had gotten all of it, and no further treatment is required. We have had Petplan since our dog was little. The surgery was expensive, and I was stunned that our reimbursement checks arrived before the pathology report. I downloaded the claims forms online, profiled with my dogs information, and the vets sent them in.

2/10   Beware of waiting periods!!!!, 3/16/2017

Reviewed By: Sarah , Recommend: N

We brought home a new puppy recently. She started to have diarrhea and we brought her to the vet to be safe. But it was in the first 15 days of her plan so now diarrhea is listed as pre-existing and they denied our claim. How can you be paying for a service but not actually be covered?????? We will still probably stick with them just in case she has a serious injury. The breeder set us up with another company for a trial period and they make it very clear in their correspondence that there is a waiting period of 5 days. Maybe we will just move to them.

10/10   Too good to be true, 3/15/2017

Reviewed By: Keith Crisp, Recommend: Y

My dog Sammy tore his left ACL a few years ago, and Petplan was the only insurer that would cover his other knee if he ever tore it - after a one year period of being healthy. Sammy ended up lame on his other leg, and the day after he was eligible to be covered (Dec 21, 2016) we took him in, had an exam done, and signed him up for surgery. Sammy had surgery in Feb, which costed $2,200. I sent in the claim (extremely simple form to fill-out on the website), and called to make sure it would be covered. I spoke with Heather, an extremely kind, compassionate, genuine person who sincerely loves animals, and she reassured me that it would be. The next day I received an email from her. After our conversation she kept an eye out for the claim, snatched it as soon as it came in, processed it, and a check covering 100 percent of his fees after a $200 deductible was in the mail the next day - two days after I submitted the claim. I also submitted the exam fee from the prior visit, so I only ended up paying $130 out of pocket. Then I ordered the medication he would need for the unforeseen future ($517), snapped a picture of the receipt with the Petplan app, followed up with Heather via email, she processed the claim that same day as a courtesy because she would be out of the office the next day, and a check for the entire thing was sent in the mail the next day. So yea, too good to be true, except it is:) What a refreshing group of people to work with and what a stand-up company.

10/10   Impressed with PetPlan, 3/14/2017

Reviewed By: Casey Sobol, Recommend: Y

I was very impressed with our PetPlan insurance that we used for the first time in the past weeks for an unknown problem that ended up most likely being Meningitis in our Labradoodle, Beau. I submitted our claim on their app on my phone and customer service took it from there. They were very helpful and kept me informed. Their review of our claims and payment was very prompt and it certainly was comforting as the vet bills were over $2000. A great investment and Beau is doing much better now!

10/10   Delivered as promised, easy, fast, polite,
$3,800 reimbursement paid in just 2 weeks from our claim submission, on a $250 Silver plan ($200 deductible), for ACL surgery (TTA) on our dog's second hind knee, which some/many (most?) other pet insurance plans won't cover if the other leg has been previously repaired. 'Nuff said? Actually, it's not, here's more: - Very helpful customer service when I called in last fall to inquire and… read more

9/10   Go Pet Plan is good dog insurance....so far,
September 2009 I submitted a claim for my 9 month old dog who was attacked by another dog. After submitting the claim it took them 2 wks. to add it to their system (a little slow if you ask me.) I had to call them and move it along. Their call system is decent. I had to call again and there was a delay but ultimately they paid the $550 bill. I only had a $50 deductible. I sent in another claim this month… read more

Who knew that our rescue puppy "Libby" (who is so precious to us) would turn out to be such an ill little thing? In the 18 months she has blessed this earth so far, she has had Demadectic Mange, Pneumonia (twice), and recently Pancreatitus. Iíve had Petplan Insurance for about 10 years when I lived in the UK, for my dogs and it was invaluable, really! In fact itís the only insurance I use on a regular… read more

8/10   CCL surgery for our 1 1/2 year old dog,
Willie is a 2 year old lab/boxer mix. When he turned a year old, I decided to get insurance for him because I figured he would hurt himself running/chasing/and playing with other dogs since he doesn't seem to care much for his well being. PetPlan had pretty good rates for him, so I chose them. 6 months later, he tore his CCL while catching a frisbee. I was worried that PetPlan would not cover this injury… read more

10/10   Fabulous Customer Service!!!,
I can't recommend PetPlan USA enough! I am a first-time dog owner of an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Before we purchased Brooklyn, I did a lot of research on insurance companies as I had read that with toy breeds there can be congenital defects. My husband thought I was crazy to spend money on pet insurance. Well, as luck would have it, within less than a year, I was told by my vet that… read more
