8/10 The Jury Is Still Out.
Izzie, our 5 year old next month schnoodle has just completed her 1st. year of coverage. She had 3 issues during the year, 2 of which needed emergency treatment. She decided to open a Xmas gift early while home alone, and helped herself to the M & M candy inside. The other issue being attacked by a neighbor's dog, which required 3 staples in her backside. Our insurance coverage came in very handy, and we were happy that we had it. Customer service could not have been nicer, and the claim forms are very simple to fill out. It was handled quickly. I guess we broke even with the money we received from the insurance company, and the money we paid for the coverage. We are not pleased however, that when we were auto-renewed there was a $100.00 increase in our coverage. We will keep it this year, and if there is another big increase that you don't know about until it is already renewed,---Well--- "The Jury Is Still Out".

8/10 not bad
had an incident a couple of months ago, when my three labs found and ' ate' some of my ibuprofen caps in the vial after I left for work. fortunately my daughter discovered this and took the bunch to the vet ER, where they were very weel treated. it turned out that only Bonnie ate some pills. she is now 100 pct, jumping, swimming, very alert and playful. ASPCA reimbursed the major expenses, after some red tape. all in all, I cannot complain

8/10 Purchasing Peace of Mind
I had this coverage on my Lab/Chow mix, Angel, for ten years. The renewal premiums always seemed reasonable to me for the coverage provided. I was purchasing peace of mind. If there was an accident, or when she was hospitalized for two weeks with pancreatitis at the end, I knew that at least some portion of my expenses would be recovered. I submitted several claims over the years, including two ACL surgeries, and felt that the reimbursement rates were fair. If I could suggest a change to the coverage, it would be in the pre-existing clause. If your pet is diagnosed with some illness and/or injury, when your policy renews, it is then considered a pre-existing condition and there is no further coverage for that issue. Overall, I had a positive experience with the coverage, and would purchase it again.

10/10 Such peace of mind
| Amanda Rose is a lively, active 3 year old Calico. So, when she just wasn't behaving as usual, off to the vet we went. Four visits later, after blood tests, x-rays, 4 different prescriptions, various urine, kidney, etc. tests, she was finally over an unkown illness which resulted in a high fever. Obviously, she had to have whatever the vets ordered, but I will admit that each time we walked in the door, I could see $ signs in front of my eyes. Our coverage with ASPCA is a Godsend. A good majority of the bills were covered, the claims were processed quickly and I could see the status of the claims online so I was aware of exactly what amount of each bill submitted was being paid and when the check was issued. We would recommend this coverage to any pet owner - we make sure that our Mandy is well csred for and ASPCA takes good care of us!

8/10 An excellent investment in your pet.
| I wish I had acted on my instinct to get pet insurance when we rescued Calvin in April 2009. He was a goofy love everthing black lab mix who had been found roaming the desert of Eastern Washington . His dehyration had caused kidney damage so when I adopted him I knew he would need some TLC. He recovered very well with treatment. Then then end of October one evening he was acting off and obviously in distress. Off to the emergency vet we went. Surgery was required to discover he had had a duodenal ulcer that had perforated. He spent 2 more days trying to recover but he couldn't fight the infection and we had to let him go. Ofcourse you would do anything to save your pet, but having pet insurance would have helped with the $6000 bill.
In January 2010 we adopted Dexter, another goofy black lab mix. He's a healthy young dog with a propensity to eat everything that isn't nailed down. Shortly after bringing Dexter home I enrolled he and our older dog Gracie in the ASPCA pet insurance. Within a couple months Dexter got up on the kitchen counter and nabbed by kitchen sponge. A trip to the vet to upchuck that was my first claim. A couple months later, another sponge incident and another claim. Then a couple weeks ago while camping in Montana he ate 'something' he found in the campground. That was a little more involved and could have ended up in surgery but he managed to pass the offender. My insurance on Dexter has more than paid for itself already and I urge |

7/10 First Time User for ASPCA Insurance
I just signed up with ASPCA pet insurance, it was recommended by my friend in Cleveland, OH. I am in New York, and just submitted my first claim. I will keep you posted on how that turned out. I had researched VPI as well...so, we will see if I made the correct decision with ASPCA.

10/10 ASPCA has awesome plans and great phone workers!
I adopted my puppy 13 days ago and decided on the third day to apply for ASPCA insurance after the vet said they are great to work with. I could not believe how much they cover for only $88 a month! The lady who activated my policy, the man who made sure I had the correct vet listed & Shelly, the customer service follow-up person were all amazing!! They listened to me, addressed all my questions and concerns & even chatted with me about my puppy questions, which as a first-time dog owner, I have many. In walking my puppy, I have met other dog owners and none of them have pet insurance but when they heard the price and coverage, they wish they had gotten it before their dog had diabetes or other expensive, nerve-wracking illnesses. ASPCA is a small enough company that workers know each other, know your pet, and know you! So I pay my vet and then submit the claim to them and a month later am reimbursed 80%. I can see any vet and the preventative coverage is so wonderful, I know my dog will be well-taken care of and I will do a better job getting her to the vet so I can get my money's worth :)

1/10 THIS IS THE WORST INS CO I HAVE EVER DELT WITH
I am truly upset and frustrated with this company. I hate the 30 day wait period! Not only that if you submit a claim with several charges, they do not question the individual claims they will deny it all together. The wait time on the phone is longer than it should be. The 80% reimbursement is only on the allowed amount they feel should be charged. For instance is a vaccine is $20 but they feel it should only be $10, they will reimburse 80% of the $10.
